Alfi carafes are great but not this one! Exterior is perfect; inside shows wear (glass lining is spotty looking) but doesn't affect function. The problem is the rubber seal which is loose and allows coffee to pour all over both you and your cup! A mess! I gave it away after one too many spills.

My wife loves this thermal carafe. She keeps saying that it is "hotel quality". But I find that it keeps coffee hot for about 8 hours, while a much less expensive travel thermos (Japanese brand) that we have keeps coffee hot for over 12 hours!

We love the carafe and find it perfect for the designed intent - keeping brewed coffee fresh and hot for hours.

Yes, it is expensive, but as one other reviewer said; it will last forever.We've now had our Alfi Opal carafe for well over 5 years and it's still going strong. It keeps our coffee hot for hours on end (8+) and has a solid fool-proof seal that has never leaked a drop!BTW, this is not occasional use... we use it at least twice a day, 7 days a week!We brew our coffee straight into the carafe and simply rinse it out after we're done. Yes, after all this time, the "white" stopper is brown, but still functions flawlessly!

Beware!!! I have purchased Alfi Carafe's in the past (three) as I like a high quality product. Unfortunately Thermos (who purchased Alfi in 2014) no longer offers many of the replacement parts that made paying such a high price for these carafes make sense. My carafe started leaking at the neck. Normally this is an easy fix. Unscrew the bottom, the liner drops down a bit, pop in a new o-ring, tighten bottom back up and you are off an for several years. Now no such luck as Thermos does not offer this easy replacement o-ring. Of course not! Alfi's high quality mean's that these carafe's could go on for years and years beyond the ten year warranty currently being offered. Now when the o-ring needs replacement the carafe is no good forcing you to either buy another or just buy one of Thermos's schlocky products that doesn't match the Alfi quality and is made for a short functional life (planned obsolescence!).

Having worn through many coffee carafes that have push-button lids that eventually stop working, we found this carafe that just has a lever to open the lid. Simple mechanics that can't break is the best policy when you want something to last forever. Pay $200 now or buy 5 others at $40+ and dump in the trash.

Die Kanne von Alfi ist zwar nicht preiswert, aber der Preis ist auf jeden Fall gerechtfertigt. Sie sieht sehr edel aus und läßt sich gut bedienen. Das Getränk hält recht lange die Temperatur.

一目で気に入りました。毎日温かいお茶を保温して、テーブルの上に置いています。保温時間は半日ぐらいかもしれませんが、その頃には、お茶も無くなっています。夏は、冷たい麦茶などで使います。なんと言っても、フォルムが美しい。
