Great tool in this time of teleconferencing with students!❤️
This book has been a fantastic help as I see counseling students via teleconferencing. It aptly describes what these home bound children are feeling during coronovirus fears, family stress and uncertainty about the near future. It opens the door to their fears. An anxiety ridden 1st grader was able to express her greatest fear : "Are any of my friends at school sick?".

Unicorn Explains Feelings
I used this book during our distance learning/COVID-19 period. Kids always like stories that rhyme, and the book does a good job of explaining that feelings just are--not bad or good--they just are, and we can learn to cope with them on our own and with the support of others. One small complaint ... the page that speaks of ice skating shows the character with snow ski equipment, not skates, which seemed odd.

Informative and fun!
This book is wonderful. I love the dragon books and now having a series about unicorns it keeping social emotional learning fresh for my students! This was a great read aloud during distance learning.

“Ten stars!”
From an almost 5 year old,”I feel happy that it was really good.” It’s a great emotional awareness book and mentions a few more complex feelings like disgust, shyness, and jealousy.

Great book to help understand feelings
I'm a school counselor and this is a great book to help students open up about their feelings. My students really could relate to the feelings that Allie was having in the book. We can't wait to read more from this series

Would Like a Child's Opinion
The book seems to jump around from one feeling to another very quickly, although I haven't read it to a small child, yet; my opinion may change after that. The picture of the grandmother is very dated. Does anyone's grandmother look like that nowadays? Of course, I am a grandmother myself, so I am a little sensitive about such things.

Fantastic
Great for young kids to address feelings! Kids learning that feelings are normal and healthy, with communication about them, allows for growth.
