When it comes to a flat iron, you're probably like me and want the on/off and temp buttons on the inside of the handle, as opposed to the surface or outside where you grip. Can't even begin to explain how annoying it is to be straightening your hair and realize 5 minutes later that you've accidentally turned the thing off just from holding it in the wrong place.There is a temp dial that reaches 450F which is amazing. I don't need quite that high of a temp for myself, but I've used it on my daughter's hair that is super thick and somewhat course. This iron straightens her hair with ease and leaves a silky, smooth finish.The memory feature is a plus, not that it's too much of a hassle to adjust to the temp you want. Still, it's nice to press a button and have it heat up to you're preferred temp. And it does this in seconds, literally. I also appreciate the digital temp screen on the outside instead of the physical dial.Overall, the unit is sturdy and well made. The cord is nice and thick and swivels so it doesn't get all linked up when using or storing.This flat iron also works very well for curling, which is something else I've had issues with when purchasing others.Overall, I love this flat iron. Looked at several different top name brands but decided on this one. No regrets. Very happy with purchase.

I am very happy with this flat iron. It works much better and faster than my old one did. It leaves my hair straighter and softer, with less damage than the one I had been using. An added bonus was the great customer service I received from the company. In response to an email from them inquiring how I liked the product, I let them know that even though the unit worked great, I noticed when it arrived that the control buttons were not right (as pictured on the instructions). They apologized and said they would send me a new unit (even though I hadn't asked for one). A new unit arrived in 2 days and I didn't have the hassle of sending the other one back. I would definitely purchase from Fine Expectations again.

This was a wonderful straightener...until this morning. As I was getting ready, and allowing the iron to heat up - POOF - stopped working. I wasn't sure what happened, and so I tried multiple outlets to confirm if it was our outlets or the iron. I wanted to give it the benefit of not doubting it broke so early on, and so I even let it sit for a few more hours and tried it again. NOTHING!My hope and expectation is that Amazon and this seller will do the right thing by providing a replacement iron; considering how quickly it became defective. If and when they do, I will be happy to update my review accordingly.Otherwise...buyers beware.

This flat iron does not heat up to 450 degrees as the advertising indicated, but it heat up quickly to 420 and worked well at that temperature. The memory feature worked well which allowed me to have it turn on very quickly and easily. Heated up in well less than a minute. It is a good value but since I have short hair, I found the blades to be too wide. I gave it a 4 instead of a five, as I felt the appliance was heavy and a bit bulky to work with. If you have longish hair, I think this would work very well.

I purchased this flat iron after reviewing many reviews. First off, I absolutely loved this flat iron. The controls were in the interior which was great for not accidentally hitting them and turning it off or changing the temperature. The texture of the handle made it easy to hold your grip, to have good control while using. Then one morning it went out. I started the return process which I really did not want to do since I was so happy with this product initially. So, I plugged it back in and it was working, I was thrilled. That only lasted 3 weeks and then officially died, trust me, I have tried numerous times. I wish they would figure out what the problem is. Now, I do not know if they would take it back or not. I bought this on my husbands amazon prime account.Part 2 Review - The company asked me to contact them directly, almost as soon as I posted my review. They were very quick to respond and at sending a new replacement flat iron to me. So far, it is working great, couldn't be happier. There is lot to be said for good customer service and standing behind your product! Thank you.

I waited some time before this review in order to really use it a few times. My last iron actually broke apart in my hand, arcing the electricity, and tripping the breaker, so sturdy is very important to me. This is very well made. Instead of plastic parts around the cord and end, it is a very solid almost-rubber for the gripping surface, and down to the "tail." I do wish it had some way to hold itself closed when not in use, but since that function is what fell apart on my last one, I am not terribly concerned with it. It heats up VERY fast, and does a speedy, great job.

I bought this iron 5 weeks ago...not for straightening but to curl my fine, limp hair. It has far exceeded my expectations!!! The fact that it truly heats within 1-2 seconds is very convenient, but the outside of the iron stays much cooler. If I touch my head or hand with the outside edge, there is no burn...no concern over damage to countertop. It does leave my hair with a nice shine. A problem developed a few days ago, and I have already received a replacement flat iron. The product and customer service are each phenomenal in their own right. I would highly recommend this iron. The great price is a bonus!

This flat iron worked fine, but individual hairs would constantly get caught in it and break off, which is not okay, so I'm returning it. Another thing I didn't like about it was it doesn't remember the temperature you had it set to. Every time you turn it on, it defaults to 285 degrees. There is a memory button that you can press that will bump it up to 420 degrees, but if you want any other temperature you have to press the plus/minus buttons in 5 degree increments. Would be nice if it would just turn on to the temperature you used last time, which probably for anyone is always the same. That's what my previous flat iron did and what I have replaced this one with.

Love the way it heats up so quickly...and the digital read and the swivel cord .Not a huge deal but would be a great package if it came with a travel bag and heat pad......just a thought.
