035 Super Clamp Without Stud (#035)

This clamp can be used to hold so many camera shoot related items. Fantastic quality. I'm using it with a manfrotto articulating arm and I love it.

For photo and video work, you can never have too many super clamps. I use them for mounting lights, iPads, and cameras. There are cheaper versions of the Manfrotto out there but I always come back to the original and have never had one fail. The versatility of the grip on round and flat surfaces is excellent without any slipping and you can really crank down on them when needed to get a sturdy hold.

Needs a feature to that if up against something the clamp can be tightened where it is. being able to pull the handle outwards, thereby disengaging it from the clamp momentarily, and the letting it spring back inwards to engage the tightening mechanism would be great.

I'm using the super clamps to hold the manfrotto 244 arms with the camera attachment to hold up my split keyboard as replacements to the arms of my Razor Enki chair. The chair is nearly perfect for relaxing minus the arms which are wobbly anyway. now I can type and damn near lay back with all of my rested hands weight on this clamp system. I've been trying since january to get a solid captains chair and i believe Ive finally completed my mission with these clamps and arms and a little wedge of wood i milled to get the full weight of the jaw. the clamp is much wider than I would have thought. Like an inch and a half wide, so be aware of that if you want to use it for the same purpose, but this thing is rated at 30 lbs so it makes sense why its so heavy and wide.

This is the strongest, beefiest clamp and even works on a flat shelf or table edge, not just tubing. Looks small in the pics but is a nice size and super solid build quality.

Hard to beat the original. These are super versatile and allow you attach camera/lighting/music equipment on anything the jaws can swallow. I have a bunch of them and can always find a use. Best paired with a magic arm!

The clamp is great. However, Amazon, not so great in this situation. To Amazon: if you are going to send me a package that has been opened and poorly reassembled, you should at least offer an opened merchandise discount.

Ho preso questo Super Clamp per avere un punto di ancoraggio solido quando il treppiede è troppo ingombrante o semplicemente fuori luogo, soprattutto in ambienti dove non mancano ringhiere, balaustre o strutture metalliche a cui agganciarsi. Cercavo qualcosa che reggesse davvero una mirrorless con zoom, non il solito morsetto “da gadget”. Il corpo è in alluminio, molto più massiccio di quello che sembra in foto: in mano dà subito un’impressione di attrezzo “serio”, non di accessorio leggero da fotografi della domenica. La leva di serraggio ha una corsa ampia, il movimento è fluido e non ci sono giochi; quando si chiude, la pressione sulle superfici di contatto è uniforme. Le ganasce hanno inserti con profilo zigrinato che mordono bene tubi, assi e bordi, senza scivolare. Su supporti robusti, una volta stretto, non si muove di un millimetro, ed è una sensazione davvero rassicurante. L’ho usato con un perno e una testa a sfera Sirui KS-5, sopra una Sony A7IV con battery grip e 24-105 f4: un setup che non è proprio leggerissimo. Il Super Clamp non ha dato segni di cedimento, né lentezza di flessione quando si prova a spingere leggermente la fotocamera. La capacità di carico dichiarata è sopra le esigenze tipiche di un corredo mirrorless, e si percepisce: non dà l’idea di lavorare “al limite” con un semplice zoom standard. Alla fine è uno di quegli accessori che fa venire voglia di sperimentare posizioni e punti di ripresa che con il treppiede ci si sogna. Ovviamente resta il vincolo strutturale: serve sempre qualcosa a cui agganciarlo. Se non c’è un tubo, una panchina, una ringhiera o un bordo adatto, il Super Clamp non può sostituire il treppiede. Inoltre, su superfici molto delicate o verniciate lucide preferisco sempre interporre un panno o un pezzo di gomma liscia, perché le ganasce sono pensate per fare presa più che per essere “gentili”; un minimo di segno, su alcuni materiali, non lo escluderei del tutto. L’unico vero dubbio che ho riguarda la tenuta estetica della verniciatura nera dopo molti montaggi e smontaggi in esterni, perché qualche segno di utilizzo nel tempo è quasi inevitabile. Considerando il prezzo a cui l’ho trovato, la combinazione di robustezza, capacità di carico e versatilità è quasi sorprendente: si porta dietro poco spazio ma apre possibilità di montaggio che un treppiede tradizionale, in certi contesti, non offre proprio.
