Propper Men's Bdu Patrol Cap - 65/35 Twill

I usually wear a baseball cap but when I'm doing shooting competitions the brim gets in the way sometimes. I wanted a cap with a shorter brim so I looked into this one. Short story: good quality, weird sizing. Read on:I have a really large head and every hat I've ever bought I've just ordered the largest size they have and either a) it fits or b) it's a little too small and so that company doesn't make a hat that fits me; it is what it is. Bearing that in mind, I bought the size XL of this hat, thinking that it should fit. To my surprise, when it showed up it was much too big! I felt like a child trying on a grown man's hat. I returned the XL and ordered the size large, which is what I have now. This one "fits" in that I can crush it onto my head but it actually is painful to wear for long periods. I only wear it for competitions for this reason.Seriously weird sizing; I've never experienced sizing like that before. I hope Propper revamps their sizing and comes out with an in-between size.

This patrol cap is adequate in its role. It looks great, from the outside, and is definitely not lacking in craftsmanship. It seems more like it would be a movie prop, or used for ceremonial purposes, rather than for field uniforms.The cover I received was made in the Dominican Republic, which makes me doubt the slogan of "PROPPER: The brand that's battle tested" a little bit seeing as the real patrol caps issued to active service troops in the US are made by SEKRI industries which is in Kentucky.PROS:*Color is fresh, vibrant.*Cap is breathable*Is reasonably comfortableCONS:*Brim is not as solid as most other patrol caps. It tends to lose its shape.*The top panel of fabric is only one ply. Usually patrol caps have more than one to provide enhanced sun protection.

Absalute joke . what junk . it is nowhere near GI issue . if you want to be a Barbie pop star get it . its thin cheap and useless.

This BDU patrol cap is made in the same pattern as the GI BDU cap. However, the material seems to be pretty flimsy. Unlike the GI cap, it's a single layer of fabric -- I can actually see light through it! So I would consider this a lightweight fabric but without the ripstop pattern. High value, but we'll see how it holds up.

I am used to the kind of BDU hats that i can find at army surplus stores that have an inner layer and an outer layer that help keep the hats shape as the inner layer is slightly smaller than the outer layer creating a stiff structure (not rounded at the top corner seam of the cylinder). also most military grade BDU hats are made of 50% poly 50% cotton and of ripstop poly. These are cotton single layer. They should work fine for most people but if you are looking for BDU hats similar to military issue then keep looking.

The shorter bill makes it easier to use the sights on my rifles. This cap is super comfortable and appears well made.

It runs small and will not budge in regards to stretching. The brim/bill is short so it does not shade the face very well. It looks cool, however I need function, not form.

Sizing is a little tight. 22" head and ordered large. Should have ordered x-Large.

Quite a nice cap for the money.Very light and made of a polyester mix which is always better than simply cotton.Unfortunately the largest size is too tight.I have managed to stretch it and it is usable.I do wish manufacturers would consider those with a larger head!

excellent hat, fits perfect, looks good and decent price.

Don't bother ordering the twill. You will recieve the 100% cotton and that will only last a few months of daily wear. Used to love propper gear. Now i'll look for designer garbage, maybe it will last longer.
