These containers can be used to set up a custom vertical hydroponics, aquaponics, or soil garden. Each container holds 1 gallon of growing medium. Smaller varieties like lettuce and strawberries should be planted at 4 sites per container. Larger varieties like tomatoes and peppers should be planted at 2 plants per container.

so I had to use screws to lock the dumb pots in place
I am new to horticulture and am learning as I go. I wanted to see if plastic pots would work as well in a hydroponic tower. When the plastic pots arrived, they didn't stack one on top of another at all because there weren't any notches in the lip locking the pots together, so I had to use screws to lock the dumb pots in place. The screws did work though. But after using the plastic pots for a few weeks I was developing a good amount of algae on the ground under the towers made up of the plastic pots. They must not have been draining well, because I could force water out of the growing medium with my hand. That can't be a healthy growing environment. This led me to order these pots from Vertical Hydroponic. I noticed that under the towers made up of these same pots that came with my original purchase, the ground was algae free. Same nutrients, same watering schedule, same tubing, same volume. The only difference is the pots. These pots interlock easily on their own without having to use any stupid screws, and they allow the nutrients to drain easily from the bottom of the pots which leaves the growing medium seemingly perfectly moist. I will be purchasing more pots as we add towers to our greenhouse, and they will definitely come from VH.

I like the vertical hydroponic garden system
I like the vertical hydroponic garden system, got everything planet had a chance to harvest lettuce and a few strawberries. I would recommend this system to anyone that have very little space to grow in.
