Red Cardinal Pinecone 10 inch Ceramic Stoneware Winter Christmas Spoon Rest

I agree with the current top reviewer, I didn't even think to realize the picture was upside down.I also think that the cardinal should maybe be a darker shade of red, as it looks in the picture. It isn't, though. It's the same shade of red as the enter spoon rest, making the bird blend in too much for my liking. However, this was a gift and the receiver loved it despite these few flaws.

I should have looked closer at the picture before I ordered this. You wouldn't place a spoon rest like it appears in the picture on the stovetop. You have the handle facing you so that you can pick-up whatever you set in it. However, then the admittedly beautiful cardinal decoration is now upside down. Some people may not mind that but I do.

I'm giving this for a Christmas gift. I know my neighbor will love this and she can keep it out all year if she wanted to.
