Baumkuchen

I was introduced to the High-lows on my first trip to Japan a few years back. I met a punker kid and we exchanged tastes in music. He turned me onto this album, and i immediately went out and bought it. Over in Japan, cds are expensive, so it set me back about forty dollars. It was worth every penny.The music is punk yet more. Very classic rock and roll album, complete with keyboards and harmonicas in all the right places.THe lead singer, Hiroto Kohmoto has the perfect voice for the style. It is slightly scratchy and limited, and perfect! THe fact that this band's vocals are all in Japanese adds much as well, being as though many Japanese punk bands sing in English, like Hi-standard, nicotine etc.I'm not sure exactly what genre i would put this album in, but deffinately something good. get it if you like well-done rock and roll, you won't be dissapointed. Also, pay close attention to the songs Ni Hiki no Masingan.. (The two machineguns. My personal favourite. its is excellent!

『THE BLUE HEARTS』は全アルバム購入しており数十年から好きです。『↑THE HIGH-LOWS↓』も聴いてみようと思い購入しました。期待していたよりは普通でした。一回聴いたらいいかなぐらいです。正直な個人的意見です。

凄く、かっこいいです。2曲目は何度聞いてもいい曲です。罪と罰は文句なしに最高の曲です。

ハイロウズの良さを知ってもらうならこれだろう。ロックのすばらしさ、今聞いているのが最高だという考えを覆されるだろう...激しくスピーディーな曲だけでなく、マーシーの心に響くような曲も！！！

宗教問題にもめてしまって、解散したブルーハーツ。ヒロトはつっぱって、マーシーは感傷して「PAN」を作った。それから、思考停止ロックンロール「ハイロウズ」が起動する。まるでブルーハーツを悪夢であるかのように、音は太く、強く、早くなり、歌詞は「意味がない」とあえて言ってまで、意味を拒否した。それは特に、マーシーに顕著であった。（ヒロトは前作「千年メダル」で素晴らしい「意味」を取り戻した）そんなマーシーが「笑ってあげる」。深く事情を知っているファンなら泣かずにはいられないだろう。「滝に打たれ、座禅を組む必要なんてないんだ。」「笑ってあげる。」と言い切った。それは、元メンバーとの断絶を意味するとも取れるが、私は、それはマーシーのやさしさであると思う。この１曲だけでも聴く価値はあります。
