They are now my full time go to set.They are beautiful and ridiculously sharp. The edges are pristine and keep their edge perfectly. They are very sharp out of the box and cut through everything like butter. I do not believe that they are true damascus steel because the pattern is only on the blade part and does not extend up into the tang. Also Damascus steel's that I have seen are more dull in color and not as shiny. This should not matter as they are still very good quality and cut extremely well. I have had to re teach my self how to cut in the kitchen as a mistake with these would not be forgiving, I believe it would go straight through your fingernail where other blades would stop. They are thinner than I was led to believe but are still durable and not "flimsy" at all. Lines are fainter than product images, but still apparent and after 2 years still holding up. No rust.Sliced my thumb open just taking the cardboard sleeve off.These things are nasty.
