Each candle generates approximately 40,000 cu. ft. of smoke over a 3-minute burn time. Candle is lit by a match or flame. Smoke is generated by chemical reaction, contains no explosive materials and leaves no residue to stain clothing or building or equipment surfaces. 3C Smoke Candles rapidly produce dense smoke for leak detection and air-flow studies. Suitable for HVAC ductwork, exhaust ventilation systems, fire systems, leak testing of boilers, tanks and other enclosures, and leak testing drain systems and sewer lines and chimneys and flues. Smoke from this product will set off smoke detectors. Superior Signal Smoke is highly visible, blending readily with air and gases. A burning smoke candle is hot, but the smoke is cool and non-combustible. Invisible air leaks are easily detectable when Superior Smoke is added. To detect leaks in small- or medium- sized enclosures--such as furnaces, tanks, piping systems, sewer lines and ductwork--use enough smoke to fill a volume at least 2-3 times greater than that being tested. Superior Signal smoke simplifies the observation of flow patterns in all types of wind tunnels, air-moving equipment, and natural airflow, indoors or out. Generally, 1 part smoke to two parts air (volume:volume) provides readily viewable results. Balance HVAC systems by observing the discharge of smoke from ducts and supply grilles.
