Gojira have now started to take a slightly different approach to the older albums. the Really obvious focus on ultra tight rytms and polyrhythms and breakdowns is gone and is replaced by something that seems to focus on sort of straight out deathmetal sort of playing. more there are still some of those older elements but there seems to be less of them.The music is still very crushing and the drums are still excellent although those little witty drum flavours have gone on this album mostly. Making for me this album slightly weaker than the other albums. however I still like it and the song Le evaunt savauge is pretty good. and some of the other too.Still worth owning still one of the most Crushing bands on the planet.

Bought this "on spec", not having heard it (or any Gojira) beforehand. Honestly, it has blown me away! What a brilliant album - from the high-energy, angular "Explosia", through the stunning title track, and on to the brutally beautiful "Born in Winter". This purchase is the beginning of a love affair with this band....

This is the cd/dvd version of this already gr8 album. The dvd was recorded at EUROROCKEENES JULY 5FT 2009 IN FRANCE. GR8 sound and vision. There next album will take them to the arenas of the world so this cd/dvd is a gr8 way to see and hear them b4 they go global. Again at Zoverstocks this cd/dvd cost nothing much so go get it.

Great Gojira album

Got it yesterday ..Got hooked into it right from opener Explosia and was disconnected only after the final song was played ..Gojira did it again ..They are in my opinion one of the best death metal band out there and brought a new hook to the genre ..Very emotive through an impressive wall of sound, the 11 songs ( excluding the 2 bonus tracks available on this edition ) on this masterpiece are just stunning and God I had not been into an album so much since Machinehead's Unto the Locust ..Highly reconmmencded

Well another triumph for Gojira. They just get better and better. I recommend this to anyone who has their earlier work. Heavy, technical brilliant and at time beautiful.

Das Album ist, meiner Meinung nach, gradliniger als das noch sehr progressive The Way Of All Flesh, was aber nicht heißen soll, dass man es hier mit "stumpfen Melo-Death" zu tun bekommt. Die Lieder sind musikalisch auf allerhöchstem Niveau und immer mal wieder gespickt mit instrumentalen und seichten Passagen, welche das ganze etwas auflockern. Dabei haben Duplantier und Co. auf etwas mehr Eingängigkeit gebaut ... meiner Meinung nach der Richtige Weg. Dabei geht der Gojira-typische "Drive" jedoch niemals verloren: Man hört von der ersten Sekunde bis zur letzten, dass es Gojira sind, die ein Meisterwerk abliefern.Also für jemanden, der vom gesamten restlichen Metal-Allerlei irgendwie die Nase voll hat und mal nach Abwechslung sucht, der sollte sich L'enfant Sauvage unbedingt mal antun, um heraus zu finden, ob die progressive Ecke was für ihn ist.In diesem Sinne, let the metal flow \m/

Als Gojira-Neuling musste ich mir die CD ein paar Mal durchhören, aber inzwischen bin ich davon komplett fasziniert. Gerade der Titeltrack setzt das Gefühl der Verlorenheit und der Verzweiflung sehr druckvoll um. Die weiteren Titel stehen dem in nichts nach. Gojira beherrschen dabei die kunstvolle Variation zwischen ruhigeren und härteren Passagen und bringen damit die Stücke zum Leben - keine Spur von eintönigen Songstrukturen. Das hohe musikalische Niveau sorgt für einen langanhaltenden Hörgenuss.

Sehr cooles Album. Nicht ganz so brachial wie From Mars to Sirius aber trotzdem der gute Gojira Sound. Auf jeden Fall das Geld wert.

Reçu en temps et en heure le jour de sa sortie grâce à la précommande Amazon.Grand fan de Gojira, j'attendais la sortie de ce nouvel opus, successeur de The Way of All Flesh.Pour ma part j'ai été assez déçu de ce cd, heureux cependant d'avoir la version avec des titres bonus qui comprend des chansons meilleures que la moitié de celles de l'album. Les titres sont pourtant travaillés, mais il manque la magie qui opère pourtant chaque fois que je lance un cd de Gojira. Il se laisse tout de même écouter, et on reconnait bien le style Gojira, mais je le trouve bien moins magique que tous ses prédécesseurs. Le moins bon album de Gojira pour ma part...

...außer ein sechster vielleicht. Die beste Scheibe der Franzosen bisher. Das Ding ist vom ersten bis zum letzten Song der Hammer....Dem ist nun wirklich nichts mehr hinzuzufügen

Un disco para amantes del Death Metal técnico con ese punto de "Gojira" tan particular que los hace tan originales. Totalmente recomendable.

Limpide comme ce n'est pas permis! Même votre copine/-ain va adorer! C'est au-delà du métal, ça en a tous les ingrédients mais on a le sentiment qu'on pourrait bercer son nourrisson avec! Et pourtant ce n'est jamais vulgaire, ça ne tombe jamais dans la petite mélopée faite pour vous titiller le pathos.Bien sûr qu'il faut se le procurer, c'est évident!

Un peu déçu par cet album de Gojira. Il manque des GROS titres, d'une chanson qui claque vraiment (comme pouvait l'être The Art Of Dying, ou Flying Whales). Malgré cela, il faut laisser sa chance au produit comme on dit.ça reste un excellent album!

C'est un superbe album de gojira tout les morceaux sont gènial,bref du très bon death mètal,normal c'est gojira on n'est pas déçu, vu le talent des ses musicien,je suis fan.

Album vraiment excellent que je recommande pour les fans de GOJIRA.Emballage un peu trop juste. Le boitier de l'album est heureusement de bonne qualité.

Gojira a réussis ici à combiner tout ce qui fait le succès du groupe.Une seule chanson vaut à elle seule l'achat de l'album : The gift of guilt.Combinant lyrisme et rythmique à la perfection il suffit de fermer les yeux pour "voir" l'univers Gojiresque.

Superbe édition vinyle, avec double disque couleur blanc crème, c'est la classe ! Je ne regrette pas mon achat, un futur colector !
