hinges don't look sturdy.
im returning tomorrow, first thing! It arrived today. One of the hinges was broken. And the outer box was in tact. It must have been broken before it shipped , since the piece was inside the box. No way it broke during travel, otherwise, the broken hinge would have been found outside the bin and inside the shipping box. Deciding if i want to return both (ordered two). I'm afraid the other will break too. They seem unsteady. Like the question was asked: YES, i think a "not too careful" child or adult for that matter could break the hinge. It's a nice looking item. My return is bitter sweet. Because it seemed like the perfect item to store my fruit kabobs, outside on ice.

Loved this product and received compliments on it
Loved this product and received compliments on it. It was big enough without being bulky. Can hold the half size foil pans. But it was used for holding/displaying my desserts at a BBQ. Very impressed! I wouldn't use to store food overnight because there is no seal, but more as a way to keep food covered from pesky bugs. The clear lid allows you to see what's in the container, whereas before the only option was foil wrap. Bought in clear and white.

NOT fly-proof
The cover is clear, making the container visually appealing, but it does not keep the flies out. There is a space between the lid and the bottom that the flies easily creep into. Major design flaw.

Great. But....
Looks great but the hinge came broken. I have a feeling that the hinge is the product's Achilles heel.

Wouldn't buy again
Bought 3 of these for a graduation party. Not very durable. Not sure how but one broke before I even got a chance to use it (the plastic male side parts that attach to the female lid ends snapped right off). I used the other two once and one of those chipped in the corner somehow. I like the idea and it would be ok but you better treat it like fine China if you want it to hold up.
