Nice projector for the money
I've had this for a few weeks now. I have it in my basement, suspended from my ceiling. An Xbox 360 is hooked up to it - its used to play games, watch Plex movies, Netflix, etc. The image it projects is about 9.5 feet (diagonal). I'm projecting to a wall that currently just has white primer on it (will be painting with a white satin paint soon).First of all, the image quality is good in a dim/dark room. The Xbox 360 video games look great. Movies are fun to watch (and look good - I watched several Star Wars movies and love the "big screen"). I've had a Macbook hooked up. It works ok, but I don't think I'd want to use the projector for serious work. If you were to use it for a presentation, it would work well (but you would need at least a dim room).Picture quality: first off, I am projecting onto drywall that has 2 coats of primer on it right now. I wasn't expecting much. As long as the room is dim or dark, the picture looks great. I can't wait to see if the paint I bought will improve the picture at all. I've read that a screen would improve the quality as well. If you are not catching my drift, this is a great picture for movies and video games. You don't need an elaborate setup! The sound quality from the projector is not very good. However, I would imagine most people using this for movies/video games are going to be using a receiver and external speakers. If you used the audio for a presentation, it would work just don't expect much out of it. I turned the audio off pretyt much right away as I had planned on using my receiver anyway. The remote control works fine. I have the projector above a couch in the basement. I point the remote at the wall - assuming the light reflect from the wall to be read by the projector. I mainly use the projector remote to turn the device on/off. I have also used it to set up the device - but doubtful this is something you will be doing much. Would have been nice to include batteries. The fan in the projector is kind of loud. Of course, it's also sitting right above the couch we sit at. Once you are into a video game or show, you don't really notice the fan too much. Just beware that it is a little noisy and could be an issue. What else? My projector is mounted upside down. It has a pretty bright LED light. I thought it would bug me, but it hasn't. However, I could see the light irritating people based on the projectors location.Overall, my family and I are very happy with this projector. The price wasn't super expensive and everyone loves the big screen size. I do not buying this device - could have spent a lot more, but for my needs, this gets the job done.

720p yes. is 720p for me NO. Honest review.
Here is the Skinny on this projector. It is a 720p projector. The colors by default and presets are WAAAAAY off i had to manually adjust to get an acceptable color scheme, which meant adjusting sharpness, brightness, red, green, blue, contrast and each one played on the others. Finally i got a good color test up using my laptop which had contrast and colors that helped me adjust to the closest possible. Whew that out of the way i began watching some movies. For the price the projector is great. 720p is just not good enough for my situation not to mention the contrast ratio of 1500:1 was not good enough.I purchased this mainly because of the LED factor and hoped i could deal with the rest.Brightness of picture... I would not call it overly bright in fact i needed a dim (very dim) room to be able to really watch anything clearly. and at night in the pitch dark with only the projector to make light i found it not super bright. This would be adequate for a lot of user case scenarios such as presentations, slide shows. on high quality still images this will do good 720p good that is.I must admit i am spoiled by having a phenominal 1080p LG Plasma TV to make color and picture quality comparisons, this projector was not enough for me to overlook some of these qualities. Which by the way are clearly stated. If i was a student and had no better options this would be great for watching movies/gaming. Just not enough for me and my family to do all of our movie watching/gaming on.If you are expecting a 720p projector, no bells and whistles, and not expecting it to produce 1080p (it can accept the resolution but scales it down to 720p) this projector meets what it describes it being able to do.The fan noise is loud, the on board speakers suck. This shouldnt be news to anybody expecting a projector this cheap the fan they have is a very high CFM with no fancy engineering to reduce the sound of the blades chopping the air. The fan noise is that of a super high CFM 120mm pc chassis fan. if you are using the on board speakers and sit 3 feet away the fan will compete with the speakers recommend getting alternate speakers.Bottom line for $259 you will not find a better projector. This would more than likely cover up to the 400 dollar range. For me it just isnt good enough for my uses but wanted to give it a honest review and a chance to see if i could make compromises. I will be jumping up to the 550-700 range for my next projector after i return this one.
