Mold afflicted coconut pulp.
Planters are alright, a bit flimsy and meter gets stuck once in a while. Real problem came with the coconut pulp, it was infected with white mold that dried out three of the plants that I had there.Do not use it or heat treat it prior to use. I do not know if it spreads airborne but deep in the root system every plant started having white balls of mold growin.Do not recommend.

Great value
Didn’t use the coconut core because of the reviews but works great for snake plants! Water level reader works good but I don’t fill it up because the plants don’t need that much. Used a sharpie to customize :)

Great value and stylish
I am very pleased and have already purchased more.I purchased the 4- 6” self water planters roughly two weeks ago and repotted my needy plants in them and they are flourishing. Very easy to to use, accurate water gauge, and actually the size that is advertised. Most self watering pots have an inner pot that is much smaller than described. These pots are the actual size you are purchasing. This is due to their great design, which does not include a small inner pot. This design allows you to use them longer. It has been one week that they are in the self water pots, and there are no signs of water stress. There is new growth already and the new leaves that unfurled this week emerged perfect. Prior to using these self watering pots or other self watering pots; the unfurling leaves would either have a tear or another sign of being over or under watered. Now the leaves unfurl perfect and no signs of over or under watering. The only thing I have to say that I regret is not buying more to transplant my whole collection.

Great for Alocasia
I"ve been having trouble keeping up with the watering needs of my indoor alocasias and decided to try these self watering plants. So far I'm quite pleased. I'm a little disappointed that they do not have an actual inner pot, which is what I was looking for, but I should have paid closer attention to the ad. Nonetheless, the water meter allows me to see the water level in the reservoir and I don't have to water my alocasias every other day. I'm happy with this purchase.

Automatic water fillers don't fit
We got this product to keep some of our indoor plants at the correct water level without having to water them so often. Unfortunately the water filler tubes don't fit in the hole provided to stand them up and measure the level of water in the bottom of the container. As a result they are useless. I have emailed the manufacturer with no results. I have also asked a question of the seller on Amazon with no results. I will be returning the item today and will order from another supplier.

KILLED MY AFRICAM VIOLets
Killed all my african violets. Soil goes sour because of the standing water in the base. As an experiment, I moved half of the still living plants to pottery planters and left half in this product. I scrubbed the pots and used fresh soil and watered sparingly from the top only. The ones in this pot still died. The ones in pottery pots lived.

Good value but instructions would be helpful
Good deal, good product, good price. However, any product with more than one piece to assemble (each pot had 5 pieces to assemble) should come with instructions. And smaller pieces (like the gauge ball) should be attached to something not just thrown in the box to be mistaken and discarded as wrapping. Also, newer products (like the "pressed dirt") should also come with instructions. Would buy again once I figure out how to use.

Monitoring and watering system inferior to other self watering pots I have
Most self-watering pots have an opening that pours the water directly into the reservoir at the bottom. This does not, but rather depends on gravity, so you may overwater before it registers on the water level indicator.
