Perfect fit for the replacement of old sink strainers.....

This Sink Strainer Basket was a perfect fit for the one that failed. It is identical to the old one, except that the rubber stopper part is not solid rubber like the old one. This fact is pointed out in some of the other user comments, as is the fact that the center post is made of foil-covered plastic (as the original one was). However, for my usage, this one is adequate. I could not find a suitable one in the local big-box store. Bailed out again by Amazon!

At first I was disappointed, this stopper/strainer didn't look like the usual products I bought from the supermarket or hardware store. Well, this is actually the best sink stopper/strainer basket I have ever purchased.In the past I usually have to wiggle the stopper over an over in order to get it into stopper mode. This replacement is really easy to work with. Easy to put into stop mode and easy to put into strainer mode. Maybe I have been choosing the wrong replacements in the past. I really like this product and recommend it.

I was somewhat disappointed in this sink strainer. It doesn't perform as well as my old one did. Other than it being new and shiny, the post is much shorter and it doesn't fit and seal as well as the older sink strainer. This is the case with many new replacement items - the form and function is much less and quality it not as good. Maybe it has something to do with almost everything being made in China now.

I have had it a month and it works great. I read some of the negative reviews before i purchased and purchased anyway. I think the problem is that they expected too much of a $7 purchase. One person said the center post broke. Yes it is plastic that is chrome plated. I guess if your rough with it it could easily break, it is plastic. I didn't want to a Cadillac stopper for a Studebaker sink.

I loved this thing at first. It did exactly what it was supposed to right off the bat. The issue is that you can't tell the quality of them until time passes by. After about 4 months of use, it did exactly what I hoped it wouldn't--stopped working. Now you have to carefully place it in order for it to drain. Otherwise your sink will always fill up. So after only a few months, both of the ones I ordered stopped working properly.

I had been dealing with the cheap replacement strainer baskets that you can find in your local home improvement stores, and they were just irritating me. I ordered this and was disappointed at first as I didn't look at my sink before ordering. The post was in the way! My husband was able to run the post through the band saw so that the extra bit beneath the gasket no longer got in the way. Now it works perfectly! Not having to fight with the sink strainer basket improves my dish-washing experience every time!

I was unsuccessful at finding one of these in a store. All I could find were the stoppers with big blocks of rubber on the bottom, which do not work in my laundry room sink. We have one of these stoppers in the kitchen and it works in the laundry room but it is a pain in the butt to walk around the house looking for the sink stopper. I found this and it is exactly what we need. The laundry room sink now holds water.
