Raindrop, Plop! Hardcover – March 8, 2004

This was my son’s favorite book at 2 years old. He wanted me to read it every night. He even memorized it and helped me read it. He has little green frog boots just like the main character and who doesn’t love splashing in rain puddles.

I've read this so many times in 9 years of parenting that I have it memorized, and so do my older kids. Great book exemplifying how to be nature explorers and notice the little details in life, like rain plopping in a cup, or toes peeking out of a bubble bath.One year a local store sold rain boots identical to the boots in the book, and that child still fondly recalls his memories of watching the raindrop plop outside under his own umbrella, wearing the same boots as the child in his favorite book.We have lived out this book so many times, and it is now my youngest's favorite. We all begin "One little raindrop, dark dark sky..." on summer afternoons when the sky begins to darken and rain threatens, and they grab their raincoats, and head out on an adventure.

This book is a favorite in our household and has been for seven years! The simple rhymes and text draw in infants and preschoolers especially well. The illustrations add smiles and charm. My littlest one (18 months) especially enjoys pointing at all the animals in each picture. The attention to details in the illustrations add extra smiles - like the dog nibbling the pretzels as the girl looks out the window or the cat at the corner of the house and the squirrels in the tree. I wish it were easier to get a copy these days, as I'd love one for each of my kids' memory boxes. Our one copy is very well loved. We read it almost every night and every nap.

We actually bought this book for our niece because our sons have the same book and they really liked it. It is a colorful book with really artistic pictures. We hope she is enjoying the book as much as they did.

We received this book as a gift initially and now I frequently give it as a gift. It has a simple story with numbers in a rhyme- perfect for 1 and 2 year olds. We read it so often that all of us (and the grandparents) have it memorized.

We love this book! I took it out of the library numerous times when my kids were little, and now that they’re teenagers, they still talk about it, and begged me to buy it. So I did! It evokes warm, fuzzy feelings every time we read it.
