Wish I'd had this years ago!
This is one of the better DVDs I've had as far as guitar instruction. Teaches (with SLOW close ups of BOTH hands) all sorts of arpeggios, including a very detailed String Skipping section! I can't recommend this enough. If you're looking into getting into various arpeggios as far as playing guitar, BUY THIS NOW!

Three Good Rhythm ideas
The instructor Andy James is great at teaching the concepts of metal rhythm as well as hinting to proper techniques involved in the speedy chops. Of course the lessons contained the lessons contain what notes/chords to play, how to play them and etc. The guitar track are very catchy. Then there is a simple slow run through, and finally whole demonstration of the actual song. There are three different songs that Andy expounds on just on the guitar. Each song gets more technical in many areas.I would rate this w/ five stars if there was one or more guitar songs to learn from this Metal Edge DVD. Note: For people expecting tabs, there are not any. But to me, the chords and positions are easy to grasp that tabs are not essential. Also, there is no soloing taught in this lesson.

Andy James-Metal Rythm Techniques
I was first introduced to Andy james videos about 1.5 years ago. I think I own 5 or 6 of them now. His instructional videos have greatly helped me in terms of improving my: playing technique, ability to create ideas or musical phrases, navigate my way around the neck, improvise, etc...You must have some level of technical playing ability before tackling some of this stuff. These videos are really not for individuals just learning how to play guitar. Prior knowledge of chords, scales, arpeggio's. etc...would be recommended and you must know the location of every note on the neck.
