Work, Dogs, Work Audible Audiobook – Unabridged

My 3 year old is an emerging reader and adores all things construction. This book hit the mark on all fronts: easy reading, engaging rhythm, clever story and delightful illustrations. We are now huge fans of James Horvath and have checked out his other books from the library. My son however now shouts "work dogs work!" or "dig dogs dig!" whenever we drive by construction sites. Thankfully we keep our windows rolled up and have had some thoughtful discussions about what we (preferably do not) yell at people.

My 5 year old can't get enough of this book. we kept getting it from the library for over a year now so I needed to buy it along with all of the other ones that are similar.

Number Three in a series of fun books for young ones. My child has enjoyed the books during his ages 4 and 5. Introduces new vocabulary in interesting rhythm and rhymes. Story has humor and teaches friendship and teamwork. Characters have personality. Illustrations are bright and charming. Fun search game is built into each page. Great books for busy imaginations. An additional benefit? The stories and characters have kind of a retro feel - a simpler time. Dig Dogs Dig, Build Dogs Build, Work Dogs Work. Love, love, love.

After renewing this at the library 3 times, I purchased it. Trucks, dogs, and a cat cameo in each scene make this book a favorite!

Love the original and thought that was what we were ordering. Turns out this version has my child’s favorite character, the Cat, edited out of 1/2 the illustrations and it’s not as colorful.

James Horvath produces some very nice work for children. First, he does all the illustrations showing a unique style. Also, his verse lines are simple and not overdone. Children have a limited attention span, and that's why Mr. Horvath's verses are some enjoyable.

I love that my son loves this book's vibrant colors, learning about construction, and finding the "hidden" cat on each page. The book came in nearly perfect condition, and shipped and delivered faster that expected. We are buying the other books in the series.
