Interesting story
My daughter loves this story but it was kind of boring reading at the first half. The writing is simple. Good for 5-6 graders.

Great Book
The book was great. It was a good mixture of action with seriousness but not too much. It was thought provoking and definitely worth reading. I would recommend it for ages 9-13

In a world without animals Kester Jaynes found his wild, given the voice to help the remaining animals.
I loved this book about the nature, science and action as Kester journeys to find a cure for Red-Eye, a virus that killed all the animals. I liked it because it had no bad words not too violent and the plot set for about 2090. I recommend this book to readers from 6 to 16.

Worth a look
It was a good read, especially for Tweens and YA readers who appreciate animals and post-apocalyptic scenarios. Definitely recommend it.

Good, but wait for after the pandemic!
My 10-year old enjoyed this but possibly best as a read at another time. The story revolves around a deadly virus that has killed off all the animals in the world and humans live in a type of quarantine with no proper food to eat! A little bit disturbing in covid times!

Looking forward to reading the 3rd!!
Just finished the second novel and am loving the trilogy...I'm a girl of 13 whose mum got me the first of the 3 books about a week ago and I have already finished the second. I love the series! I love the way it expresses the points of view of animals and how they try to solve the problems they have, caused by humans, some using the help of a boy while others believe they can do it on their own. I am a nature lover and you don't know how much I would love to be able to talk to animals! My favourite of the two I've read so far is the second because of the Iris Capsule. It's a book loaded with adventure and I simply couldn't put it down.

9 year old really enjoyed this book
We were looking for something for our son to read and we stumbled upon this book. He found it engaging and the story was interesting. It was a perfect read for our 9 year old (he has also read Harry Potter which is of a similar level in terms of complexity of vocabulary). He loved the underlining message in the book about looking after the world and its plants and creatures. He found it thrilling and was enthralled from start to finish.

School-assigned reading
I got this book for my child as her school had assigned it for reading in her year group. She loved the adventure that it brought, and it was engaging enough to keep her entertained. There were twists and turns that she didn't see coming and she could not predict the end ( which is a great sign to me). The book was easy to follow and she was able to use her imagination along with the descriptions of the book to travel to this fictional world.

RIp-roaring adventure
Great read for kids - a kind of junior dystopia - environmental message there but not totally rammed down your throat.Pace is maintained throughout and the writing is very good in places. Certainly one to engage and interest younger readers.Animal lovers aged 8 and upwards would like this one...
