A Fine Choice (but be gentle with it!)
Updates:1) After 1.5 years of nearly daily use, I discovered that the filter assembly unscrews from the press rod. This makes cleaning so easy! And makes me feel so stupid!2) The carafe's handle broke off the very next day, rendering my Age of Enlightenment (and the birth of a French Press Renaissance) to about 24 hours. These two realizations balance out, I think: still 4/5 stars. This truly is a beautiful piece. I chose it over other brands because it appeared, from the photos, to have a wider base, and in fact it does. (Wider = less chance it will be accidentally knocked over.) I've been using it for Yerba Mate, herbal infusions, and occasionally coffee. The one fault I find is how the screen is sandwiched between two different hole-punched discs; the top disc has many smallish holes exposing the screen, but the bottom disc has three large holes. Only about half the screen, where both sets of holes coincide, actually filters. It has not been a problem yet, but with a tightly ground coffee I would worry that the little available mesh would quickly clog and make plunging difficult. (Why not use identical discs, matched in orientation? Or a single disc, bonded to the screen?)

Doing well after several months of daily use.
I have had this about three or so months and it has not rusted, broken or failed to separate grounds from the liquid. It holds heat pretty well too, if you swish some hot water in it before you pour in the coffee water. I am much too lazy/impatient to do this very often, so don't have any times to offer in this review......The only thing I have noticed is an ever so slight 'wheeze' after I wash the thing, which sounds like the exchange of a tiny bit of air in the sealed compartment? However, it never appears to have any water between the layers, so not sure exactly where the wheezing is coming from. Could be the lid, could be the container. If I ever remember to dunk it under the dishwater and hold it there, waterboarding style, I will update the review if I see any bubbles. That's the only reason I have given it 4 stars.

Love this french press!
I am happy with this press. It's stylish, easy to clean and has a tight seal mesh for pressing. I bought this one to replace a ceramic one that broke. Makes great coffee.

Great Product
Love French Presses. And, as a pitcher press this is one of the best. Great strainer. just takes a bit of time to get used to if you haven't used a press before.

Easy to clean and dishwasher safe
Arrived today when expected. Used it for the first time shortly after and very impressed with its looks and ease of use. It keeps the coffee really hot. Easy to clean and dishwasher safe. Perfect for use with loose tea too. A brilliant cafetier.

the only reason for 2 stars - very nice spoon, that doubles as clip for coffee
Very bulky, does not hold heat much. the only reason for 2 stars - very nice spoon, that doubles as clip for coffee bag
