Poorly written
Poorly written textbook. I minimized my usage of it as a reference because it is poorly organized, written, and presented. Selling back now that the class is done because it's not good enough to keep around as a stats reference. I'd rather keep Lodico, Spaulding, & Voegtle (2010) and George & Mallery's (2012) SPSS book that expalins stats easily, clearly, and concisely. I did NOT like this book and would not recommend it.

Kindle review...
Do NOT buy the kindle version of this book. It is terrible. The graphs and charts did not transfer over properly - kind of useless in a stats books. All of the graphs and charts are at the end of the chapter instead of imbedded in the chapter. Page numbers do not match print version.

ebook too hard to navigate.
Although this is a great resource for statistical work, the ebook only gets two stars because there is no table of contents or index. Because of the free flowing text feature to accommodate various devices, there are no page numbers. This made following reading assignments for course work difficult. If you are buying this book for course work, buy the hard copy and not the kindle version. -A student from WI

Decent. I like it because it gives a good "crash course" in statistics for those who have never had to work with those before. However, after taking a statistics course, I realize that this book lumps a lot of the tests together and fails to mention the differences between things like z scores and t scores, etc.

This is a must have!
I am working on my doctorate of education. A professor recommended this as I was working on my dissertation. This book has been extremely helpful. It is straight forward and I use it constantly while working on my research methodology sections. It is worth every dollar.

Three Stars
Not necessary unless professor requires it.

needed for class
I needed this book for my last masters class and it did the trick. It was easy to follow and understand. It didn't have the most exciting information in it, but then again I didn't buy it for entertainment.

VERY helpful in my doctorate level stats course!!!
Very helpful. Laid out in alphabetical order by term in legible English (not that crazy stats language). Highly recommended if you are in a stats course or otherwise need to be able to decipher statistical gibberish.

Great for students
A great book for students who need a basic statistics manual for reference. Easy to read, thorough, and not complicated.

Practical Statistics for Dummies
If you've taken a stat course and need a refresher or if you're taking your first course this book is a must. Easy to read, clear instructions on how to use statistical formulas and what all the symbols mean. I wish I had gotten this book earlier. In my opinion this is the best book you can purchase as a reference or in addtion to a text. If you are totally lost about stats, buy this book.

Excellent overview of the implementation of statistics in education, but ...
Is it my system? Why can't I highlight (copy, etc.,) the text on my Windows (8) system? This is the first time I've ever run into this problem. (I can highlight text on my iPad, and the highlights are displayed when I use the Windows system, though...)OTT, I wish I had this text during my Master's thesis ... I would have fared much better, I think. Even while sifting through the first few pages alone, I was afforded clarity on issues that had dogged me throughout my earlier studies. Oh well! On to the Ed. D.!
