The technology explained; REAX Impact Technology Patent # 61/575,915. Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best. A simple piece of corrugated cardboard is three sheets of craft paper where the inside sheet is corrugated (peaks and valleys) and then covered by, and glued to, two other two pieces of paper. The corrugation spreads the energy of any force applied to it and that is what makes corrugated cardboard as strong as it is. It is still only three sheets of very thin paper. The same corrugated process is applied to many other surfaces like roofing or pipe. The more an item is corrugated, the more energy is disbursed and the stronger the item is, and this is why & how we developed the REAX insert with a simple corrugated concept. Our development programme with over 30 years of combined experience in bicycle and skate helmet design and testing to exacting standards like CE, EN, CPSC,TUV, ASTM, has enabled us to design an exclusive patented inner liner that offers increased impact protection that is lightweight and especially suitable for today’s pro scooter riders. Reax Patented helmet interiors are designed with peaks and valleys, basic corrugation, that spreads the energy of the impact before it passes to the pad system, dramatically reducing the energy passed to the head or through to the neck and body. The design also importantly reduces the overall weight and enhances the impact absorption. By taking this concept and using the Reax EPS Patented moulding process, we were able to develop a very innovative design for a helmet interior construction that fits into helmet hard shells to substantially reduce the force of any impact. “DAMAGED” Scooter / BMX Helmets are the first UK vendor to incorporate this innovative technology in a purpose designed product and have exclusive EU and other territories distribution rights.
