While it’s often overlooked, “Tales of the Lance” is easily one of the best supplements for the second edition of AD&D and one of the best “Dragonlance” gaming products ever made. The box set--which is admittedly rare to come by these days-contains in-depth details on Krynn’s history, gods, religions, monsters, nations and inhabitants. There are also decent profiles of some of the leading characters from the “Dragonlance” books as well as cardboard standups for the leading cast members. Add in a detailed look at Solace, a DM’s screen and tons of maps and this is a true delight for gamers and readers wanting to know more about “Dragonlance.” Highly recommended but, be warned, a complete set can be pricy.

This set is tricky to find in a complete state. Most sets I've seen are missing the 4 part cardstock referee's screen. In fact, usually the first dozen listings on Amazon are just the World Book of Ansalon, shame on those sellers.
