Excellent camera and value. One star off for lack of good documentation.
Took a star off for lack of good documentation. I really would give 4 1/2 stars if I could.Very nice camera. Picture quality is excellent, and the setup is quite simple. The software is very functional, but with a few rough edges. So it does help to be handy with computer/phone software and basic hardware installation in general, and some knowledge of computer networking would be helpful as well, but perhaps not totally necessary. You should NOT need to make any changes on your firewall or router. Since the camera initiates the connection to a server somewhere in the "cloud", it's usually not required.I first created an account name, entered the password twice, and then could not login through that account. It told me that my password was invalid. Since there is no email verification of the password, I was out of luck there, so I created a new account and account name.Setting up the camera really is a breeze; you can scan the QR code on the camera (or enter it manually) for quick setup - remember that the initial camera password is "admin" - you are required to create a new camera password immediately upon camera login.Once you are logged in to your account, you can change the account administrator password. You can also set up a "guest" login, with view / pan / tilt and otherwise limited functionality. You do need to first connect the camera by Ethernet cable for the setup; after the wi-fi setup is complete, you can disconnect that cable. It is OK to use the camera on Ethernet only; in that case you don't need the wi-fi setup.Wi-FI SETUP NOTE: Camera connects to wi-fi using WPA and NOT WPA2. I had access points that allowed me to force WPA2 and the camera would not connect until I disabled that feature, and allowed WPA. Generally not a big security issue, as WPA is pretty secure as it is.You will be very surprised at the quality of the images you get from the camera, especially at the higher res settings. With normal (non-guest) viewing, you can adjust image quality settings such as brightness, contrast, sharpness, and saturation, and set the camera for day, night (IR), or auto day/night.BANDWIDTH WARNING: Note that you can chew up lots of bandwidth while viewing the camera. If you're using a (non wi-fi) cellular connection to view, be careful of how long you view, especially at the higher resolutions. There is a bandwidth indicator at top-right of screen in kB - usually this means kilobytes (could be kilobits which is 1/10 the amount of kilobytes or so, but I think it's kilobytes, as indicated), and that translates to a LOT of data, so use the lowest resolution you can if your cellular data plan is limited, and they usually are (usually x amount of gigabytes per month, of course). I suppose some folks might have limited data for their wi-fi as well; your mileage may vary.Android and IOS apps are somewhat different but both seem to work well; each is available in the Play or App Store for free. I first tried the Android link given in the setup sheet, which worked but it then updated when I went to the Play Store - if you go to the Play Store first, you'll get the latest version, I think. The PC app works well, and is relatively self-explanatory - it auto-downloads the add-ons needed for your browsers - worked well in both FireFox and Chrome - the initial software download only worked in Internet Explorer (but I tried it again the next day from FireFox and Chrome and that issue has been fixed). I have not tried the Mac OS app, but judging from the other 3 apps, the Mac app is probably OK.Very cool is the two-way audio feature, where you can talk through your pc or phone to the camera's built-in speaker. Sound quality is certainly good enough for this. See below for IOS (iPhone) issues. In the Android app, once you activate the microphone, you press the screen to talk and release to listen; in the IOS (iPhone) app, the mic stays on once you turn it on - press-screen-to-talk would be better for this app, however, but it doesn't seem to be available. I could not turn the speaker volume down low enough on my iPhone to avoid feedback, so the IOS app needs some work! In both apps, you can pan and tilt the camera by sliding a finger across the screen. In the pc app, you click and hold on arrows for up/down left/right.There is no real comprehensive manual for using the camera, so you will need to spend some time fiddling with the software. Finding some of the settings takes some doing. For instance, if you want to change the wi-fi setup, go to Settings (top of pc screen) / Network. You should then see the Ethernet settings. To the right of "Network Interface", click the arrow next to Ethernet, select Wi-Fi and voila, you're in the wi-fi menu. Be prepared to wait a bit for settings changes to take place - you might also need to restart the camera by powering off and then back on.You can also set alarms on motion detection (and apparently get alerts on your phone), and record to a micro-SD card inserted into the camera, but I haven't even gotten to those yet. See other reviews for comments about them.Lastly (IMPORTANT!), on both Android and IOS, sometimes returning to the app after doing something else, you'll find no video. You will need to exit the app from its menu and login again (you can check the box to "Remember password" so it's relatively painless). The sometimes slightly-crude interface and lack of manual (really not bad at all once you learn it) are worth the time you've spent, given the simple-enough setup and this camera's low price for what you get.NOTE: 12/23/2015 PC app was not working. IPhone and Android app ok. Friend also has this problem so it's not just me. Emailed and hoping for a quick resolution. Couple hours later, still not working on Windows pc.12/23/2015 (some time later): LOOKS OK NOW!!!

Not bad overall
Pros:Easy to set up and connect to WiFiRelatively clear picturePan and tilt controls through phone appComes with an adjustable wall mount.Cons:Noticeably lower picture quality with night visionWhen sitting flat, you can't really tilt down much. You can go nearly straight up.Power cord is only about 5' long. This needs to be near a wall outlet or you will need an extension.Non-secure connection when viewing over the internet.

I can't really say anything bad about this camera
Does what it says says what it does. I can't really say anything bad about this camera. I will say however that this was a little tough to to set up because this was a refurbished item and I had to research online how to reset the camera because it still had the previous owners setting setup. Once I reset the camera the setup steps where very easy and I was up and running in ten minutes. I can view live video at anytime via the app and can set it up to take pictures or video when motion is detected. You also can get texts to you phone if motion is detected. The feature I like most is that you can listen and talk live with my family via the app.

Great Quality and Features!
This camera is awesome. Installed quickly and works great. I love that I can pan around and see an entire room from my iPad. I am at work right now watching one of my dogs. I snapped a screenshot and sent it to my husband. There is a microphone so that you an talk through the camera if you want. The video quality is outstanding for day and night. The App work great too. I will be purchasing another one for another room today.

App Freezes. Camera useless.
Everything about this camera setup was easy. It probably took 5 mins total. The main issue is the app freezes the video. What's the point of having a camera where the video feed freezes and I have no way of knowing? I tried to use it as a solution to a baby monitor and it won't do at all. Currently many reviews of the app mention this and it's an issue known by others. Worthless.

Great Camera
This camera was very very easy to setup. I'm not a techy person either. I plan on buying 2 more. Clear pictures on my phone. Camera works as it suppose too. Well worth the money so far. I have only just installed them, so I will get back with another review in about 2 weeks. But very happy with the cameras and the seller.
