storytelling
I am from pure Lithuanian heritage. The bulk of these stories are from that country, so I am overjoyed to be learning more of my heritage tales that I hope someday to be able to tell/pass on in the storytelling venue.

A great introduction with lots of useful information
This is written for younger audiences, but is an extraordinarily enrapturing book for all audiences. The tales are told in a very well-written way, and are easy to understand and enjoy. It is hard to find information about the pagan myths of Nordic Europe and the Baltic, but this book is a gem. Highly recommended. There are several tales about each group of people (the Sami or "Lapps", the Finns, the Estonians, the Latvians, and the Lithuanians).

Fun Stories
I was not aware of the Baltic Wizards, having just heard of the Kalevala ones. Here are some really good stories of that kind. Good for adults and kids. Wonderful Tales just like the title says.

Short stories, well written. An easy read.

Baltic Wisdom
Amazing how anything Hebrew is Sacred while anything Norse (Celtic, Gothic & Baltic) is nothing more than children's fairy tales. Lots of good stuff despite the children's format - Highly Recommended!

Completely loopy and ridiculous
I was truly astonished by the banality of the book. It doesn't matter it was written in 20s. There are some standards. These are not even stories but some sort of "Boom-Boom-Boom" screaming ravings and pulled out parts from a longer story. Got it as a present for someone who knows something about Baltic folklore and couldn't give it to them because there were no stories from the mythology or folklore. The short intro of each Baltic country (Finland too) was entertaining, not informative, at least. That is looking at the countries as they were in 1920s.

Not what I was expecting, but okay
Once I accepted that this was a reprint from the 20s and that it was aimed at children, I was okay with it. I had initially exxpected a somewhat more scholarly compilation, but was happy enough to read just the stories themselves.
