The author has done an excellent job of explaining age appropriate activities that can be fun for children and grandchildren during video chatting. Equally as important, I found the chapters on Internet safety for children and adults to be very helpful. I plan to send the book to both of our adult children to be sure they appreciate all the parental controls that are available for their teen and preteen children. We cannot be too safe in today's environment with predators lurking on the Internet to find our young children. Having knowledge of all the tools available to parents is so very important. A very quick, easy to read book. I highly recommend. This book would also make a nice gift!

It can be tough to hold the attention of very young grandkids, engage tweens and teens in interactive discussions, and build meaningful relationships virtually. The author provides helpful tips on video chat activities and ways to engage children of all ages, plus young adults. I liked how she grouped ideas by age group although some apply to any and all ages. It can be especially difficult if you or your kids or grandkids are not especially verbal; how do you fill those awkward silences that follow, “Hello, how are you?” There are also important chapters on keeping kids safe online. In our current COVID-19 Pandemic world, video chats with loved ones have quickly become “the new normal,” and it will most likely continue post-pandemic. This book provides an overall framework for successful virtual connections with family and some of the tips apply to friends and colleagues, too. Helpful for first-timers and veteran video chatters.

My husband and I are snowbirds and spend up to 6 months away from family and friends. We routinely use video chat to stay in touch with our grown children and 2 year old grandson. This book has been a great tool to make our chats more interesting, interactive and fun! My grandson especially likes when we sing a song together or when we read books to each other. I have recommended this book to my friends who are now isolated from their kids and grandkids due to the current coronavirus pandemic. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to enrich their family relationships using technology when they can’t be there in person!

Since my grandchildren are in their 20's and my great grandchildren are toddlers living miles apart in different States I found this book extremely helpful. Ideas for celebrating birthdays and other special occasions, playing games and singing songs with the younger ones are some great suggestions.There is a lot of information on Internet Safety for children and adults, descriptions of technical terms and resources. This is definitely a great book with a lot of information to make memories with our grandchildren and great grandchildren for years to come.

I learned a lot from Dr. Tibbles about developmental psychology and communication skills when we were both professional colleagues, and now I’m learning more as she combines this with technology in her latest book. The book came out at an opportune time for all of us grandparents, as we miss seeing our grandchildren face-to-face during the coronavirus separation, and are looking for creative ways to stay in touch virtually. I have two teen-age grandsons, and immediately got fun ideas after reading the book.Thank you, Lillian, for continuing to inspire me!

This is a wonderful "how to" book that is easy to comprehend. We read many great ideas about how to have fun on the computer as we video chat with our granddaughter. I think the author did a great job describing activities that can be done during a video call for each age group. We're new grandparents and this book is exactly what we needed to learn how to stay in touch in a fun and creative way.

I have family scattered in different parts of the country and we like to video chat...but I never had so many great ideas. I have grandchildren from 6 to 21years of age so this really is helpful.As a former counselor...I recommend Dr. Tibbles Book for anyone who loves their children and grandkids.
