What a great idea! I have an autistic son who is always sneaking around and turning on faucets! He loves water and any chance he gets, he will find it. Enter Instant Off water saver, yes! We thought about getting one of those automatic faucets with the sensor that only works some of the time and I was dreading that. I googled different options and found this, I'm so glad. It literally took less than a minute to install. You just unscrew your existing faucet aerator, remove the old washer and screw in the new one. Then you can set your faucet handles to how hard you want the water to come on when the white tip is moved or you can leave them turned off until use but either way the water does not come out until you move the white tip. No more walking into a bathroom to find the water is running and you don't know for how long! If you have little kids or even if this is for yourself, it will save you water. I have found it's great for me too, I used to leave the water running while shaving and now no need. The brushed nickel color matched our sinks perfectly but you can also get other colors. I took off one star because of the length of the tip you actually have to put your hands up higher under the faucet and you get more spray around the sink area, small issue.Thanks Instant-Off!

I went looking for this at a local "Depot" store where I originally purchased two of them, however, they don't stock this product any more. I'm lucky I found it on Amazon.I am using this product because a family member with dementia forgets to turn the water off. And, we save some water to boot, which is always a good thing to do.To use just, install it on faucet, fully close the values under the sink then reopen them to 1/3 open (to avoid water hammer), open the normally used faucet valves at the sink, push the stick and water comes out. Stop pushing the stick and the water stops. For constant water flow, push stick and twist it 1/4 of a turn, and twist again to stop water flow. There is also a 13/16" adapter included to use with Price-Pfister brand faucets.We had one of these installed on the bathroom faucet for over 7+ years. However, recently the stick would keep fall out when pushing it. For this model, the stick and where it inserts into, are made of plastic that wears out with use.Over the 7+ years we had this installed on two faucets with one water valve open, we never had a problem/never had a leak.

I attempted to utilize this item with the very low-end faucet that I purchased at one of the "big box" stores for my hall bathroom. The faucet was brand new, so I was not trying to solve an existing leak problem but I was trying to cut down on wasted water since guests sometimes forget to turn the faucet all the way off. The description claims that this product will fit virtually any faucet; virtually is the key word because, for the life of me, despite numerous attempts, I never found a configuration that actually fit the faucet I had installed. To be sure, I could get the device screwed in (after some effort), but at best it still produced a constant stream of water (that is, the auto-shut off function did not work) and at worst the seals were never set right so that it sprayed water out of the top of the device at all times. I don't know if it will work on other faucet types (the other faucets in the house are clearly incompatible with the device based on their design), but you might think twice about if this product is right for you.

I bought this because my kids keep leaving the water on. Automated faucets are expensive, don't always work, require maintenance (battery changes) and you have to also buy a proportioning valve. For all the headache, this little gadget just makes sense.It installed quick and simple with nothing but a pair of pliers. Includes an adapter ring with supposedly all of the universal sizes. Can't speak for the rest of the world, but it worked on my faucet.And washing with it was less annoying than I'd thought. The plastic tab brushes aside with a light touch and doesn't interfere with your hands much at all.The only problem I found is that the tab (like everything else in the world these days) is plastic. Kids snapped it off in short order. I was able to modify a brass countersunk bolt to fit, but seriously, it should have come with something more substantial. Minus one star for that.Hey, manufacturer? Are you listening? Use better parts!

This thing saves water, period. Water bill has gone down some with this product. My children can wash their hands with ease.
