It probably doesn't have enough lift, By this I mean about three inches is the maximum lift. this is just a guess. **Q: Does it have enough room on the lifter to place a door on top of it for door installation and would the lifter be strong enough support door weight?** A: Yes, it could handle the weight of a steel door and there is enough room for the door.
