Seems very sturdy. I checked the bag both ways
I purchased this bag to travel with my grandkids 2 booster seats.Size: I had read all the reviews about it being very large but figured that since we also have smaller grandkids, it would work with those car seats as well. Well, it is very big! I had plenty enough room for the booster seats and the kid's blankets and could have gotten a lot more in it if I'd wanted to. I will have no problem getting the convertible car seat or the infant seat and base in this bag.Material: Seems very sturdy. I checked the bag both ways: Through gate check and baggage. No problems. It's dirtier than it was but that's to be expected. The bag will be travelling again in a month or so. I'll update this review if something goes array.Shoulder straps: These adjust easily and will fit most men and women. They aren't the most comfortable straps but it's not a hiking backpack. They are adequate. On a side note... While travelling with the 2 booster seats/blankets in the bag, I was caught in the Southwest IT debacle. They were only hand writing luggage tags and the lines were crazy long so I chose to throw this thing on my back, grab my suitcase, my grandkids, their suitcase and head for the security lines. You have to take the boosters out of the bag at security, no problem. Easy access in and out. Bag back on my back and we headed for the gate. We were shuffled to 5 different gates over a 2hr period. This bag, while bulky when loaded, was a life saver.

Convenient & Relatively Sturdy, but Not Waterproof
We've gone through a few carseat bag options while traveling, and so far this is my favorite. The stiffer nylon fabric of other brands we've used (Jeep, Britax) was more prone to tearing, and also a suuuuper tight fit for our model of convertible car seats - it would take a fair amount of "rejiggering" to get the seat in them just right so the zipper would close. The drawstring bag makes it super fast and convenient - just plop the carseat in and tighten the drawstring. I was initially worried the backpack straps might get in the way since you can't remove them, but they worked great. Easy to wear, and they tighten up so that they're flush with the bag and not likely to drag or catch on any airport conveyor belts. The only thing that dropped this from 5 stars to 4 is that it isn't watertight at the top, because the circular drawstring enclosure leaves a small open space. Something I obviously knew when buying a drawstring bag style cover, but it was pouring buckets both to and from the airport on our last trip with this bag, and I was worried trying to get the bag inside quickly (as we schlepped 2 toddlers, strollers, luggage etc out of the car) so that rain didn't dampen the carseat. Overall I'd definitely recommend the bag. Also nice with the extra room if you want to toss in a sleeve of diapers, etc... just make sure it isn't something so small it could fall out of the gap at top!

Weak closure strength, ok bag.
This bag is as advertised a thick material, which is true but the closure at the top was of poor strength. We used this to in hopes of adding an extra layer of protection to our convertible car seat which was being checked at the ticket counter while in its box (car seat in box, bag over box). But everytime I lifted the bag, the weight of the car seat pulled on the bag and opened the string draw cord opening. The small spring loaded clasps on the cord are too weak to hold the bag shut under load. We also purchased another brand's blue bag for about the same price and that one had stronger draw cord clasps and a Velcro closing cover. Both brands went through the same airport at the same time and this yellow one looks like it rolled around in grease, which matches other comments about it getting dirty. This makes me wonder if this material picks up dirt easier than other materials. Also, when the bag's closure stretches open under weight, the padded straps have less value since the car seat ends up drooping. We even tried to knot the cord closed but we struggled to get all of the cord slack out of the bag and tie it tight enough to stay adequately closed. Also, with the poor closure it tended to not hold tight against the box so instead of providing a skin around the box it apparently stretched or was loose enough to allow several punctures of the car seat box. I'm still glad we used this product since it made finding our luggage easy, the straps were better than nothing and it was an added coat of protection. But we likely would have been equally well off with a heavy duty contractor draw string trash bag and some neon yellow duct tape for easy identification. But if you have a much smaller car seat, the clasp problem may be less of a problem, but if that is the case the car seat likely will wobble around in the bag still making the carrying awkward. If they upgraded the draw cord clasps and added a buckle closure to the flap (and made the flap big enough to fill the opening) this could have been a 4-5 star product.

The straps were sturdy enough to securely and confidently carry this on your ...
I used this to store/carry both of our Chicco NextFit Zip car seats on a recent flight and it did its job well. The NextFit Zip car seats are quite bulky but it fit without being tight or overly spacious. The cinch cord is not too long (i.e. the opening is not too wide) which is helpful as when you tighten it the strings were not too long to be problematic (as they were with the Bubabee Elua car seat bags). The straps were sturdy enough to securely and confidently carry this on your back as well as carry it by hand. The stitching seemed reasonably sufficient and did not show any signs of loosening or breaking after the round trip but I imagine that will be the part that goes first. I like the bright yellow color as it made identifying our seats at the baggage claim easy. The material seemed tough and despite the rough handling in the airport on the round trip, it only had one smallish hole (probably a puncture hole) that did not seem to be in danger of widening.Overall, pricey but well worth it as it made taking two car seats on a plan a relatively painful (and actually, doable at all) task.
