The description says steady and flashing but of the flashing choices there are 7 or 8 possibilities from a very slow alternating brighten and dim of alternate colors to very energetic flashes as well as multiple combination programs that cycle through multiple types of on and off light displays.If I had it to do over I would have gotten either a longer string or multiple strings.
