Tesoro Durandal Ultimate G1NL LED Backlit Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Blue LED Edition (Blue Switches)

I spent some time looking at mechnical keyboards, understanding the benefits, the options, and figuring out which one is right for me. Ultimately I decided on the Cherry MX Blue switched but I also wanted something that had a blue backlit keyboard. I decided on this once since it was the right price-point and had blue illuminated keys. Each key has an individual LED that shines through the etched symbols on the keys. It has a nice cloth cord that has the USB cable as well as a headphone and microphone plug. On the keyboard there are two 300ma USB ports and the microphone and headphone ports. I didn't use the mic or headphone ports since my output goes to a small JVC console stereo system. I do use the USB ports all the time for flash drives or to plug in my gamepad.I was surprised that there was a signifigant improvement in typing skills. On my old keyboard I was only averaging about 76wpm with a 4% error. With this keyboard my WPM averaged 93 and my error rate dropped down to 1%.I am not going to lie, these are a bit noisy, especially on a wooden keyboard tray. But I think that's a fair tradeoff for the increased accuracy and speed when typing.Gameplay this keyboard is amazing. I don't have to worry about not hitting a key or hitting the wrong key. Each key has that satisfying click that I ensures I hit fire when I meant to hit fire.The only negative, but not worthy of loosing a star, is that plugged into my motherboard the keyboard still glows even while the computer is off. That's because the USB ports on my computer are charging ports and remain on while the computer is off.

The keyboard is great, nicely backlight, great blue cherry keys, usb hub, and bradded cables the best keyboard for sure in its price bracket. The keyboard would definitely be a five star keyboard.BUT then about two weeks into use the F key had stopped working and pressing properly, this was ridiculous that two weeks into use already the thing has a broken key. So I decided to email tessoro about the issue. The guy that answered my email could barley wright a proper sentence in English and he told me that updating my software would fix my broken key so yeah...Frustrated with Tessoro support I contacted Ergo geek, they understood the problem and told me to ship it in and I would receive a replacement. So after paying the $30 to get it there they told me the "all key functions were working properly". Which was not true AND THEN they said the arm on the keyboard was broken and this results form "harder than normal use". Which all the thing did was sit on my desk and when I sent it back to them the arm on it was fine. So I guess this voided the warranty and they just refunded me after refusing to send me a replacement. So after its all said and done this keyboard has cost me $90 more than it should have in the first place after needing to order a new one.Summary: Great keyboard if it doesn't break, horrible customer service

I purchased the Blue Cherry MX keyed Durandal Ultimate keyboard with blue illumination - for general use. I am not a gamer but wanted a heavy duty illuminated mechanical keyboard for its utility and reliability. I am completely satisfied. The illumination levels (available regardless of whether or not the accompanying software is installed) are 1) no light, 2) low light, 3) medium light, 4) high light, and 5) pulse. For me, high seems to be right during the day and medium at night. I usually run Windows 7 but have booted into Ubuntu 13.10 with no problems with the keyboard. I have not enabled macros or used the advanced features available after installing the associated keyboard software - so I cannot comment on those aspects - however I like the feel, look, and sound associated with this keyboard - and would highly recommend it.

love the mx blue switches and the backlit keys. Definitely worth the money. unfortunately i bought a laptop after a couple moths, so i dont even use it that much anymore, but its still an amazing keyboard!
