Enjoy the Recorder: Treble Tutor 1 Paperback – July 1, 1983

I have been teaching people to play the recorder for almost 40 years and can thoroughly recommend this tutor. One of the things I like most about it is the large choice of tunes for each new note or rhythm pattern. There are plenty of exercises, all of which will lead to good technique and some duets for learner and teacher.The one thing that I find slightly irritating is the order in which notes are taught. The first five notes introduced are all for the left hand fingers, which can lead to the right hand getting into a bad position. However constant vigilance will ensure that nothing untoward occurs.All in all I really do recommend this book as an excellent tutor. People who are teaching themselves to play would also find the book thorough, stimulating and a good source of advice.

Wonderful tuition book as are all Brian Bonsor's books. So clear to follow and the music is varied and fun to play. I play the clarinet but find that the spacing of the finger holes on the treble recorder somewhat of a challenge for the right hand fingering of F. Would recommend this book to any keen would-be treble recorder student.Ann Press.

I am learning to play the recorder and chromatic harmonica. My teacher recommended using this book for the recorder and I also use it for learning to play my harmonica. It is an excellent aid for both instruments

Lots of tunes to play at each stage. Everything explained well. Can't fault this book.
