Great mug!!
This is the second mug like this that I've had. The first one I had for such a long time that I don't remember. Used it every morning for my coffee or tea to have on the way to work. Then, one day I left it on the roof of my car. I'm not kidding - It stayed on the roof of my car for over a mile going 40mph, then at least 3 miles on the freeway (in the fast lane!) until I heard a loud clunk. I think it hit the trunk when it finally let go. I thought it was the truck next to me until it dawned on me that I don't have my mug in the car. If it wasn't for all the traffic I thought of pulling over for a moment of silence! Poor mug:(. Then I thought WOW I can't believe it held on for so long. Well, that's my story. Got a white one and put black paw print decals on it. Love my mug :)

Won't tip over, but also won't keep your drink warm.
If you want a warm drink to stay warm, you should buy something else, like the Contigo Autoseal mugs: ( Contigo Pinnacle Autoseal Grip 16 oz. Travel Mug- 2-pack (Red (Spiced Wine) & Silver) I use it for iced coffee at my desk, where the requirement is mainly that it not tip over, and the near-total lack of insulation doesn't bother me much.

Redesigned out of usefulness for me
I have an original Hotjo, in Ocean. It has been reliable for decades. I just bought another, this time in White, but it has been slightly but significantly redesigned and it is going into the Donate box as soon as I finish this review. The redesigned Hotjo is bigger, as its handle and so too big to be comfortable in my hand as the original has been. It is lighter even so, which makes its heat-preserving walls thinner. I suspect that the increased volume will leave space unless more coffee is carried that will more quickly cool the coffee it but I haven’t had it long enough to say. The redesigned cap rides higher in the mouth of the Hotjo and unfortunately this means that my nose hits it every time I drink from it. Altogether, not the cup for me.

It's an attractive mug but that's about where it ends ...
It's an attractive mug but that's about where it ends. The lid doesn't fit securely, Is very flimsy and tends to fall out when the mug is tipped to drink. Coffee does not stay warm and it's very long at all. Overall a very unsatisfying product

Stability
I have used these mugs since the 90s. Occasionally I break one. They have no heat retaining properties but can be microwaved. The wide base prevents spillage. They are my favorite coffee mug.

Four Stars
Great mug, doesn't tip over when placed on my dashboard. Wish it was made of metal.

Love It!
LOOOOOVVEEE it!I've had Hotjos since 1987!Originally they made them in maroon. I was so crazy about my maroon Hotjo, I bought another one and had 2 for a good long while until when, staring at a handsome man at Peet's, I accidentally dropped it and broke it. Now I'm down to only one maroon cup.Luckily they're still making Hotjos and now I have this new cup in fresh green. The difference between the two cups is that my new cup is quite a bit taller. It can hold a huuuuggggeee amount of coffee. For me it's fantastic because I can put it on the bed or couch or the floor of the car and it stays there because of the wide base.I love it!
