I've been using this grater once a week on things like cheese, carrots, and potatoes. The unit is sturdy and does not move around on the surface under the grater due to the rubber padding that fits around the bottom edge. I have no issue putting my weight on the grater as I use it. The handle feels sturdy and the steel does not seem to warp or bend as I apply pressure. I work quickly and end up putting some force into the grating. This unit is able to withstand everything I have thrown at it thus far.The main concern I had when purchasing one of these through Amazon was to make sure that the unit I purchased was stainless steel throughout. I haven't cut into it to confirm, but I think over my use of the unit, since there is no sign of wear or flaking, that this is definitely stainless throughout.The advertising lead me to believe that this unit was made of thicker steel than the usual grater. Perhaps that is my own misinterpretation, but the only difference I notice between this and other graters I've seen and used previously is that the handle is a bit sturdier, the actual grater seems typical of any other high-quality grater. That being said, I do still enjoy the build of the handle as it has no plastic and can withstand the pressure I put on it while using it.

For once a grater built like a Sherman tank! Looks like it should hold up with my kind of abuse for a long time....and very sharp, watch the knuckles when your cheese block gets down to ground zero....this thing goes through the stuff like a combine goes through hay! Good product.

I bought this for my daughter, and she loves it. When I first started looking at this type of grater, I noticed that many other brands had complaints that food got stuck in the small gap between the rubbery ring at the bottom and the grater, and the ring was not removable. I specifically bought this grater because it *was* removable. My daughter has been using it since Christmas and has had no problems. She says she removes the bottom rubbery thing when washing it and nothing stuck in it. I plan to order one for myself since she likes it so much, and I also need a box grater.

I'm super disappointed because I thought I'd finally found a quality box grater. It has a nice weight to it, is easy to clean, and it's not rusting. However, the handle broke away on one side the first time I used it. I suspect the whole thing will break off within the next couple of uses as it's no longer properly supported by the box portion. Be mindful when using, because when your hand slips on a sharp grater, it's quite painful. I'm tempted to one star this thing but I have to give points for the weight/quality of steel. If the handle didn't break it would have been perfect, especially given the price.

A while ago I had purchased A different grater. I don't like how the slicer side worked. I had a hard time trying to slice carrots. So I started looking for a new box grater.This one just what I was looking for. The slicer side has three slicing blades. Much better for slicing carrot and other vegetables and cheeses.And I just want to say think you to the customers who did the little videos. That helped me make the choice I did.I'm glad I ordered this grater

As others say it really feels rock-solid. It's sharp and does a fantastic job. I was initially slightly wary of the connection between the handle and body because it's spot-welded rather than riveted (our previous grater failed at the spot welds), but the whole thing is so rigid that I can't see the spot welds taking enough stress to break them in my lifetime (and I use this thing a lot).

This grater is so sturdy, just what I was looking for, a few months ago I bought another type , it broke the 3rd time it was used. That will not happen this time. The handle is comfortable to grip and the rubber gasket on the bottom prevents slipping and is easily removable for cleaning.

I have had a few of these in my lifetime...they were so flimsy I didn't use them very often...this one is so sturdy I am using it almost every day...I recommend this product for anyone who has been disappointed in the past with their flimsy one...
