ScaleBlaster SB-MAX Water Conditioning System

Arrived within the scheduled time and in mint condition, Very happy with how the Scale Blaster has softened and removed the calcium from our water. We had to replace most of the faucets in our house prior to installing the Scale Blaster due to the build-up in the valves and tubing. When I replaced the last two bathroom faucets a couple months after the Scale Blaster was installed, the build-up in the tubing was gone and the water was clear instead of milky color. Our plumber installed the unit along with a new main house valve for about $124. So we cannot comment on how difficult it is to install the unit.

This product doesn't work. it's now 6 months i have this installed and i'm seeing the calcium build-up on all tap faucets in the house and the shower glass is also showing signs of hard water. i don't recommend this product as the guarantee is 90 days for full refund but you can't see the difference within 90 days. Amazon's return * A-Z protection policy is also 90 days and now i have wasted about $1000 dollars. DON'T BUY!!

Missing signal wire, zip ties, all literature.

I ended up purchasing the SB-MAX because (for some odd reason) the main water line to my house is a 2 inch copper pipe and other models weren't strong enough for such a large pipe.First, I want to comment on the customer service (5 star!!!). I had to call the company because 2 inch copper pipe is in the industrial size range and they were able to instruct me on which Scale Blaster would work and the difference sized wire I needed to use. They even sent me (free of charge) the larger wire needed in the installation!!Second... The installation (3 star): Easy to understand... Not easy to perform. This is not the fault of the product. It is what it is... I had to dig down almost a foot to access enough length of pipe on my main water line to wrap the wire. The pipe was also fairly close to the wall of the house (like 4 inches) so we had to work in a very tight location. We were very, very careful to wrap the wire tightly according to the instructions. Overall it took a couple of us about 1 1/2 hours. Again, not the fault of the product...Third, what I've noticed so far (after being installed about a week). I definitely feel a difference with how my shampoo rinses from my hair (5 star). It's so soft and silky now. Even my husband mentioned that his hair feels much softer. I do notice that while there is still water marks/scale left on the faucets, it is much less (3 star). No difference in taste (as expected). I've been using less detergent in the laundry but I think I'll have to give it a few months to see if there's a difference in the cleaning ability with the decreased detergent use.Fourth... Increase in electricity bill/usage. I'm not sure how much this will increase my utility bill yet. I hope it isn't too much...I'll update this review as time goes on... But, so far I'm happy with the product.5/3/16: Update...I received my electric bill and did not notice any significant increase so it seems the Scale Blaster Max isn't a total energy hog.Also, I have noticed the scale build up on the door of my front loading washing machine has improved.My hair just loves the treated water!!! Never looked or felt better!!!The downside is that I continue to get water spots on my faucets, shower door, etc.I haven't drained my hot water heater yet (going to wait the 90 days since the Scale Blaster installation) but I'm hoping this will prolong the useful life of this appliance (which is already pushing 12 years...).So far, I am VERY pleased with the Scale Blaster Max and would buy it again!!!

Great product

I have given this device plenty of time to work, and it's of course well beyond the return period. I first tried a lesser model and thought upgrading to the SB Max would do the trick. We have brand new plumbing so there was no collection of scale in our pipes. We continue to experience scale buildup in our faucets, showers, drains, and dishwasher. Save your money and buy a water softener.

Bought at a local big box store. Had this on for about 6 months, trying to give it plenty of time to show some difference. We continued to get scale on our faucets, didnt feel much different in the shower either. No difference with laundry or dishwasher. I was hopeful, but this doesn't appear to be functional. Hoping I can return it.
