Spare ear pads are held in place by mounting flanges (the oval base of the earpads). The flange is clipped under the small lugs around the inner edge of the ear cup of the headphone. If the cushion is partially or completely detached, push its mounting flange back onto the ear cups. Then click on the edge of the mounting flange to make sure that the cushion snaps into all positions on the headset.
