It's very low to the ground - so low in fact it sits on it. But, it's fairly comfy to sit in as well.Plus, it folds into a mattress which is better than any air mattress. I would recommend using a sheet over it while you sleep, the pleather texture isn't the most comfortable on the skin.Also the throw pillows that come with sofa are kind of a mystery. I live in a studio apartment, so I wanted something we both could relax on, and also for him to sleep on. It's a comfy couch, but I don't recommend using this to sleep on every night. It looks nice! My son loves it! Super easy to clean. For starters the couch part doesnt stay put, when you sit it slides out from under you. I put velcro on it to keep it in place. I like that it can be adjusted for your back, other then that is not comfortable as a bed and if i didnt put velcro would be horrible as a couch. And for the price..... i would never recommend this product!
