A cracked pine, non-clumping litter made with natural fresh scented northern pine, contains no chemicals or additives. Softer on paws than full pellets. Safe for your cats, your family and your home. Simply Pine™ cat litter is over 3.5 times more absorbent than clay on a per-pound basis, which means you'll use less, and shop less. Better absorbency also helps eliminate litter box odor more quickly. To prove it, we conducted a study to visually demonstrate the absorbency properties and performance advantages of Simply Pine over two leading traditional clay-based cat litter brands. Simply Pine™ suppresses odors naturally, without masking them with artificial fragrances and perfumes. Odors are absorbed leaving the fresh scent of natural pine.

Stinky
Same as most reviews the smell is very unpleasant. I just moved to a new house and put this in my hedgehogs cage and by the next day I couldnt stand the smell. Going back to the regular pine pellets that smell great!

Incredibly Dusty, Heavy, Musty Odor.
I used Feline Pine for decades, but my newer kitties don't like the feel of it. So I started using Okocat cracked pine. I can't find cracked pine locally. And here on Amazon, the Okocat litter price fluctuates and the product is not always available. So I decided to try this. It is extremely dusty--when you pour it into the box, a cloud of wood particles whooshes into the air, and it takes a while for it to settle. And when my cats use it, same thing--dust clouds. They haven't started sneezing yet, but it's only a matter of time. Secondly, this stuff has a very strange and strong odor. It doesn't smell like fresh pine like Feline Pine or Okocat. It's a funky, musty, heavy, very penetrating odor. We have the litterboxes upstairs, and you can smell the boxes from the living room. Won't be buying this again.

While this isn't the best cat litter I've ever used
While this isn't the best cat litter I've ever used, it makes a great base under a finer wood litter. Due to resources I'm currently using it by itself, and it does a decent job of soaking up urine. It's also a lot lighter than clay litter, which is great for those of us with back injuries or other pain or health problems. Also, it smells great. The biggest problem with Simply Pine (and other wood and corn products) is that it is easily tracked from the litter box.

Doesn't stick to litter box, CLEAN!
This is the best litter I have ever used. Better than clay in my opinion. It is very CLEAN. The litter box stays cleaner, and it is easy to dispose of.The smell is a little strong when you first open the bag, but I got used to it. I used to live near a pulp mill in Western Canada. Reminds me of that.It lasts a long time, and the cats like the litter. It doesn't hurt them, or get stuck in between paw pads like some of the rough clays. You willneed a tracking pad though. Otherwise, very economical, and you can easily scoop out the whole litter box, or dump it out, and NOTHING STICKS, like other litters.

NO pine smell
Smells like a pulp mill. This stuff stinks worse than kitty litter. I'm tempted to return it!

We All Love it!
I'm thrilled with the price! I prefer the cracked pine over the regular pellets because the smell is better and my cats seem able to dig in it more easily. They've used some form of pine since birth and, though it does track (they all track!), it's easy to sweep or vacuum, and it is far better to breathe in than clay litters. Simply Pine has proven to be better than other pine litters. I've tried Feline Pine, Oko Cat, and others I forget the name of, but I like this. Plus, a 40lb bag lasts SOOO long!
