(3221-M12F Thread Repair Kit

The perma coils are good but I wasted through a whole batch of them before I realized that the inserted was the wrong size. I contacted the company and they made it all right. very good customer service. Eventhough I was initially frustrated I really felt taken care of when it was done.

Stripped my brake caliper, used this to repair it. The tap worked great and I got the coil to thread, but the precoiler just made the installation harder. The t-handled tool I have for other helicoils in much easier to use

This tap does not work correctly. I tried for hours to get a hole in an engine block to thread and insert the tcoils, and failed at all attempts. I was able to get a larger bolt in without the thread repairs (as an experiment), and I suspect the tap is not a Thread Repair tap,, but instead just a normal tap relabeled in a thread repair size (BUYER BEWARE!)I broke all the repair coils trying to get it to insert. If the tap is the wrong size, the coils will not go in.

Finally got my transmission back in, and this thread kit made it a breeze to repair the rear transmission mount threads on my 89 Civic. Very easy to follow instructions, smooth operation with the prewinder, and the tap cut smoothly and accurately. Shipped fast, good price, overall great transaction, and I will go back to this seller again!

Used to repair my spark plug hole in motorcycle (Legends) motor. Worked great but I did not use the supplied inserts, I used the copper ones instead.

Drilled and tapped an aluminum head, just as I have done this dozens of times before yet this was my first time with this brand. It will be my last, when I attempted to put the inserts in the insert tool stripped out. I have never had so much trouble than I had with this brand and I have been doing this type of thing for over 30 years.

You really only need this when you have a problem. I needed to fix blown threads in an aluminum engine block and this thread repair kit worked well. The tap was of high quality, the coil starting tool was easy to use (and worked) and I was able to quickly repair the threads and get the engine installed.

worked ok. the tabs broke off under pressure so be careful to work the insert in slowly and carefully.
