because the friction was too great and it straightened the tang used for screwing in ...
Product is similar to helicoil brand, which I've used many times. It did work, but I had to lubricate the threads prior to inserting the thread coil into the drilled/tapped hole, because the friction was too great and it straightened the tang used for screwing in the thread insert. This made the first insert worthless, because the insert had not yet bottomed out. After lubricating the next insert, it worked fine. I had to wash out the lubricant with brake cleaner after it was in place, and then used a cotton swab to coat the insert with thread locker. After repairing the threads, I assembled the part I was working on and torqued the fastener to 59 foot-pounds, with no issues. The repair held fine. A decent repair.Normally, I would use Time-Sert products for thread repair, but this is an unusual size for a bolt/thread pitch and the Time-Sert was a few days away, and time was of the essence. I've since purchased the Time-Sert for this application. It is a decent product, outside of the slightly flimsy insert tang. I would use it again.

Great!!!
Worked great for repairing a stripped bleeder in an aluminum Brembo caliper. I mocked the caliper up to ensure I drilled absolutely straight and went slowly as to not nick the valve seat. Didn't use the blue installation tool due to space but it threaded in and compressed into position without much drama. I don't anticipate any issues. Thank you for making this possible and saving me four hundred dollars not having to replace the caliper

Helicoil repair kit worked flawlessly on my Cannondale Lefty hub
I had just purchased a Cannondale with a lefty shock. When I took the tire off to get it in my car and saw that I had what appeared to be some kind of spring sticking out. I thought nothing of it and threw it in the trunk. Apparently that "spring" was actually the helicoil that I had somehow damaged because there was no way to get the tire back on all the way. No auto parts stores carry this length of course, so I did some research and found kits going for around $80-100 online, which is absolutely ridiculous for what you are actually getting. This kit was the cheapest I could find and did the job nicely. It took about 10 minutes to read the instructions and insert the new helicoil into my hub. I've taken the tire on and off multiple times since then and I haven't had a problem since!

Great Tool
I too bought this kit to replace the stock cannondale lefty helicoil. I used this tool along with actual cannondale helicoils that I bought separately. I thought there may be slight differences since I had previously tried helicoil branded ones with no luck (their O.D. seems larger)The helicoils in this kit look almost the same size as the cannondale ones that I bought so they may thread in without the need for tapping if your threads aren't damaged. All in all, this tool made the process easy if you use the blue prewinder properly.

Lots of better 20 dollar sets out there
No handle minus one star, notch on the pusher is too small, metal is too soft, threads on it?! Claiming it is made in the usa but with metals made somewhere else? Minus 2 stars. This what i did: i bought the real heli-coil brand and bought a pusher with a handle. Did the job on the first try. J have done this a couple of times with time sert - very costly set-so i am not a total noob.

Rubbish! Poor quality. Hit or miss. For us, it was a big miss!
Rubbish.Followed the instructions. Coils kept getting ruined. Then saw a couple reviews about threading the blue tool part. Still ruined the coils.Cheap.I recommend just taking it to a pro, or at least spending a little extra to get a better quality kit.
