Used it to repair stripped threads in an aluminum body carburetor. Worked well for that.

Local hardware stores have a meager selection of threaded inserts, so Amazon it is. Decent price, quick delivery, the tools are of good quality and the inserts are as well. No complaints. Made short work of the disaster left by the notorious, “Previous Owner”!

Seems fine for the job. Very basic. You'll have to fine your own drill bit. I used a near size as I didn't have time to find correct size. No box for storage, so maybe a Plano container if you're using these often.Fixed my part. Should last and be repairable again.

This thread repair kit was essential for repairing a carbon fiber mast that had stripped threads.The kit didn't come with a drill, but it specifies a 13/64ths inch drill bit which is common, the same for drilling for 1/4" threads.The description says stainless steel, but the helicoils were slightly magnetic.I'll find out shortly if they will corrode.But if they don't I'll go with 5 stars

Excellent kit. Make sure you have or buy a 15/64 drill bit to go with it. I used the helicoils on a Holley 950 cfm carb float bowl/body that had two threads strip out. I just did all four seeing how they were on the rear. Never will strip again...
