Emptying Beds: The Work of an Emergency Psychiatric Unit (Comparative Studies of Health Systems and Medical Care) (Volume 27)
L**H
Anthropological Study of Emergency Psych Work
This is a fantastic and unusual study of the workings, culture, and self-understanding of the folks who work at an emergency psychiatric unit. Well researched, well written. It can be tough to find work that explores Western psychiatry and psychology from an anthropological point of view, but it's an important perspective to be able to take if you work in the field.
