A Simple Time-Saving Tool!
I am in the process of replacing my carpet on my stairs with hardwood but dreaded removing the hundreds of staples carpet layers find necessary to hold the padding in place. After procrastinating for a few weeks, I googled 'removing staples from carpet padding' and came across Workline's Upholstery Staple remover. The positive reviews convinced me try it on my project. I am happy to report that I was able to remove the staples efficiently, and without suffering the aftermath of cramping in my finger joints and wrists for days after. There were a few times I had to use pliers to extract staples that were crooked and lopsided, but otherwise most of the staples popped right out of the wood. For anyone undertaking a similar project, wear rigid gloves to take some of the strain off of your hands. The staple remover is durable and held up well and hopefully lasts through my second set of stairs. I highly recommend this product if you are facing a similar project removing carpet or upholstery.

Very Useful Tool
I actually really like this tool, and I didn't hold out high hopes for it. If a staple is buried very deeply into the furniture, then you will still have to use the old fashioned staple puller to lift it up just a bit, but then you just slide the tip of this tool under the lifted part, and the staple just slides right out. If the staple is not too deeply buried in the wood, then you can just slide the tip right under the lip of the staple and pull it right on out. Sometimes the staple will come out of only one side, then you have to use a pair of pliers, or a small pair of nail nippers to just pull the staple the rest of the way out. I find that this tool feels much less dangerous to me than the regular, sharp pointed staples pullers that I normally use, because the tip is blunt and not pointed. Overall, I go for this tool much more often than I go for the other staple pullers that I have.

Unsafe and useless!
I had high hopes for this product. I was disappointed on all levels. First of all, it's extremely difficult to use. The portion which fits between the staple and the wood is too thick. As a consequence, you must gouge the wood in order to fit the tool in a position where it will lift the staple. When the staple is being removed one side may lift up and out but the other end is still embedded in the wood. So a pair of pliers is needed to remove it completely. Also when trying to fit the tool between the staple and wood surface unless it's at exactly the right angle it can skip over the surface doing further damage to the wood and your other hand! I have the gouges in my left palm to prove it! I think that this tool is dangerous and totally useless for the application that it is intended.

Absolutely Worth It, But...
I am VERY happy with this tool. I reupholstered our six dining room chairs and used this tool. I found that the design was nice and comfortable to use, but the wedge to lift the staples was a little too blunt to suit me. About three chairs into the project, I got out my dremmel and slightly flattened the blunt tip. In the center of the tip, it's raised a bit and I didn't want to weaken the bulk in the metal there. It was necessary for at least the strength of the tip. I didn't want to flatten the tip top much, or it would break under pressure. After that tiny modification, the remaining three chairs were even easier. With or without modification, I would HIGHLY recommend this tool. Worth every penny, friends!!

Great with pine frames, not so great with harder woods.
Worked great on staples in newer furniture with pine frames. I couldn't say enough great things, but then I got an older love seat to reupholster. It was well built with maple, so the staples were really in it well. After only getting the skirt off the little couch, the bottom metal piece of the staple remover broke off from prying. I had to use a different remover that resembles a forked screwdriver. I did purchase another one of these to use on newer frames because it pops the staples out so easily.

Look no further. Get this one!
Simply the best! So much less effort. The pointy end easily slips under the staple and lifts it. In fact, I found that the wider leverage action of this tool could actually allow me to lift the staple from under the material. This made the work so much easier because I was not trying to remove each staple but merely lift the old upholstery and staple. Love this. Worth the money!

Works great for crafting
I am a crafter and needed a sturdy tool to remove staples from pre-made artist canvases with frames that I purchased at a craft store. This tool is amazing! Removes the staples with ease & no frustration! My go to tool! Arrived on time! I would recommend this tool! Very happy & satisfied. Price was reasonable! A happy crafter.

I love using this tool
I love using this tool, especially after using a screwdriver and hammer to get staples out of my chair seats! The handle is well designed and comfortable to use. It takes a little practice to get the staples out using the little "clip" to hold them in place. I highly recommend this product.
