Secure your property quickly and easily with our latest motion activated warm white Evo SMD Solar Security Light. This state-of-the-art solar security light can be mounted virtually anywhere in your property with minimal DIY skills and without the need for a mains power supply. The Evo SMD is designed to work in UK winter time and will protect your home each night for free - even during lengthy power cuts. The Evo SMD Solar Security Light offers mains equivalent brightness from a highly compact unit that offers truly exceptional waterproofing and can deliver 500 activations lasting 30 seconds each from a full charge. The activation time can be set so that the Evo SMD lights up from between 10 seconds and 9 minutes each time it detects motion. The Evo SMD uses a high performance rubber compression seal and numerous waterproof O-rings on the light body and motion sensor which guarantee superior waterproofing to IP56 standard. During the day the Evo SMD's solar panel charges its internal battery giving it the power it needs to light after dark. After dark the Evo SMD will activate as soon as it detects motion. At dawn the Evo SMD stops activating and starts charging again ready for the night ahead. The Evo SMD comes with a 2 year guarantee which is double our standard guarantee period.

A Practical Alternative To Mains Powered Lighting
This is my first foray into the solar light market, and I am really impressed with this product. I can't believe how much solar lights have improved in the last ten years. This light offers real, practical value around your home. The Evo feels well made, durable, good weather resistant seals, and has a nice finish. The instructions are in clear English, not Chinglish! I'm not very experienced with DIY, but even for me, I found the light and solar panel very easy to install, and it comes with the required screws, rawl plugs and washers. I have the solar light facing West, with the solar panel mounted on the South side of the property. The 5 metre cable gives a lot of mounting flexibility, and I believe a further 5 metre extension cable can be purchased from The Solar Centre if required. The range of the motion detection is not far short of one our mains powered halogen security lights. I'd guess it is about 25ft to 30ft, with a consistent range of detection across about 160 degrees.I have only had the light a relatively short time, but so far it has been charging well during March (South East UK), and that has included some overcast days. It’s difficult to quantify the level of illumination. Clearly it is not as bright as a halogen security light. It doesn’t give that “night turns to day effect”, but it provides a strong level of illumination over an area of about 30ft by 20ft. That’s with the light mounted at a height of 15ft. Our garage is about 30ft away from the light, and even at that distance, it is bright enough to easily see the keyhole on the garage door.Obviously, this all varies based on mounting height, and the angle you set the light at, but the above gives you something to go on.The angle of the light can be changed only in the vertical plane (tilted up and down). The motion sensor can be tilted in the vertical and horizontal plane (up, down, left and right). For those that care about the colour temperature of the light. It is a warm, yellowish light. The solar light has three settings on the bottom of it:Length of time the light stays on (10 seconds to 9 minutes)Sensitivity of movement detector (short range to high range)Lux - ambient light detection (dusk until dawn sensor)If I have one complaint about this light, it is that it activates when there is still a fair amount of daylight. I have the Lux setting adjusted to the lowest light level, but it still comes on too early in the evening, and therefore potentially wastes some of the battery charge. It is a small complaint, but something that could be easily addressed in the manufacturing process.Overall, a good product which I have recommended to others.

Worked well for 18 months, replaced under warranty
Bought one of these 18 months ago. It worked well as advertised through one winter, now coming into the second it died. It has a 2 year warranty and when I emailed the Solar Centre about it they sent a replacement willingly (if not very quickly).Besides that, if you angle the lamp down far enough it's not wasting half its light on the sky, the PIR can't be raised enough to see horizontally. Some will like the "warm" white LED colour, but I think it looks a rather sickly orange compares with outside light sources like the moon or LED torches and street lights.

The first was so Good I bought another!!
This is a fantastic Solar Powered light.I bought the first of these last August (2015), after a different model (by a different seller) had failed after being in place just over a month. I have held off leaving a feedback in case this broke down or was not very good during the winter months. However, it was so good I have bought a second one! The first I placed at the side of my house, as this can be quite dark and shadowy, and I want a light there for security and for unloading our cars etc. Because this has a very long lead between it and the solar panel I placed the solar panel at the front of the house, as this gets the most sunlight. The second I bought in April, as I was so impressed with the way the first one had worked all through the winter even after very dull and short days. This was placed in the garden so we can see to go to our Log shed and our dogs in the garden. We do have another light on the back of the house, but due to the shape of our garden this mainly illuminated the patio area. These lights are fantastic. Unlike our first venture into solar powered lighting, there has been NO water ingression, and they have worked even on the dullest of days. The first has worked all through winter with out any failure or even dimming due to the shorter duller days. They are very bright and equal the power of the Halogen light we have on the back of the house. They come with a very long lead so you can place the light well away from the panel if needed. The leads plug together and then a cover screws down over the join, there is a rubber washer to assist with preventing water entering through here. Any excess wiring can easily be wrapped around the bracket on the solar panel, so it is out of the way.The sensor can be turned left, right, up and down, and has small dials on the underside, which adjust the sensitivity, how dark it has to be before it will react, and how long the light stays on for.If I had to ask for anything more I would ask that the bracket on the solar panel be a little stiffer, as it is very easy to move and we have had to re adjust the one on the house twice, as a pigeon has tried to land on it and pushed it back a little! I would also like to see some markings on the timer switch to give you an idea of how long the light will stay on for, as it is unmarked.

Very happy with this purchase
Very happy with this purchase. Bought it for the shed since I could not find nice and bright "split" unit I liked, that has the panel and light separated and has a motion sensor. Quality seems decent and fitment was easy. One thing I noticed was that the swivel point on the solar panel is a little loose for my liking. I think a strong gust of wind could move the panel, depending on how it is mounted. A locking screw could have solved this problem. A nice feature of the motion sensor is that, regardless of the time set on the module, the light will remain on as long as movement is detected. Only once movement stops will the time that is set, start counting down and the light then switch off. This solves the issue of constantly having to wave arms around to get the light to turn back on.

Easy and fast installation, good.and affordable product!
Bought as temporary solution for the backyard, but its so bright, lights the garden better than the 220v lamp, it will be a permanent solution, saving me the money of the original halogen bulb and probably a new sensor and of course electricity. It gives after a few days of some sun a long time of very bright light, covers our garden of approx. 20x10 meters.Just couldn't find out how to switcht it off during the day, except for manually turning the switch, but as the light works at night without problems Its not very important. For this purpose its very recommendable, covers a large area with a lot of light and the sensor can be set, duration of light and brightness as well. Heavy rain and wind don't seem to give problems, even though placing the solarpanel on the roof of the shed, fully exposed to all weather conditions and the lamp & sensor itself seem fully waterproof as well! Comes with instructions and more then enough cable, the only tools necessary are for mounting the lamp and panel, in my case just a screwdriver.
