Solid and heavy stone
I have used this multiple times since the purchase, it works quite well and holds the heat nicely. I live in higher altitude in Utah and with a natural gas stove. This helps provide a nice crust and rise to enjoy a crunch when you bite.

Great stone but takes a bit of experimentation
This is a substantial pizza stone with good heat retention properties. I expect that we will learn to tweak our pizza baking process and timing to better suit this stone. My experience is that these stones get “seasoned” after a couple of uses. They are not easy to clean if they get melted cheese on them but it is definitely better than no pizza stone at all.

Crispy crust
The 16" pizza stone arrived on time and in good condition. I was surprized to learn it arrived without any instructions on use or care. This was a gift and the recipient had to research proper handling. Certainly not a deal breaker but there are very specific and unique cleaning details that must be followed. As for the stone and its preformance, I'm happy to report the first pizza was a huge success creating a crispy crust. Botton line is I would recommend this pizza stone, but if it's a gift, at the very least make sure the recipient is aware not to wash with any soap or cleaners...

PIZZA STICKS! If you can't hand toss dough DONT BUY!
What I've learned.I started out with a nonstick metal pizza pan. I put down corn meal, roll out my dough in the pan, make a pizza, no problem. Crispy crust and never stuck.With the stone YOU MUST BE ABLE TO HAND TOSS YOUR DOUGH then lay it on the stone. If you roll it out on the stone, even with a ton of corn meal it will stick like glue! Even trying to slide a knife under it to remove the pizza after cooked doesn't work 100%.So since I can't toss pizza dough the stone will go in the garage sale box :(

Perfect size for 16" family pizza.
Arrived in great shape & timely fashion. Surfaces appeared very good. Using one of the shipping styrofoam sleeves to store it on edge so it won't roll off the shelf. Unfortunately item did not come with any instructions for use, cleaning, or even who the company was that I bought it from. Use & care instructions had to come from the internet.BTW. Smoking a thin crust Papa Murphy's on a stone: preheat smoker & stone. Cook for about 10 min of total time. Fmv from paper tray & turn 180 degrees. Finish cooking on preheated stone for usual time. Let cool & enjoy!
