I practiced using this device, using the pratice cartridge. I found this to be an extremely hard device to fire, as the trigger required excessive force to pull past the resistance point. I had to use both index fingers on the trigger to fire the device, which made it harder to hold steady.

I purchased one of these units a couple years ago and just purchased my second one, so my wife and I each have our own. As one reviewer noted, the pictures can be deceiving... the holster is sold separately, as are the various ammunition colors, each of which serve a different purpose. Do your research before you buy, as I did, and you will be very happy with your purchase.The first thing to know is that this is not a toy! It is NOT a little lipstick-style pepper spray tube that you carry in a purse or on a key chain. Those units serve a purpose, but for them to be effective, you have to be within a few feet of your attacker, and the wind can blow it right back in your face or off target.The Piexon JPX, on the other hand, is a weapon. The stock is like a real gun, feels hefty and secure in your hand. It has sights that work if you have time to use them. If not, or if there are two attackers, its double barrels give you a second shot. If necessary, it can be quickly reloaded with another two rounds of high-grade, high-velocity pepper spray.My wife and I intend this for use as a home defense weapon. If someone entered our house at night, the red-dot laser site and the longer reach of the jet-stream pepper spray could provide a non-lethal defense without turning the lights on, and without waiting until the attacker was only a few feet away. The laser sight is high quality and works at a long distance.I also purchased the holster which slips over the top of your jeans, with or without a belt. It is stable and high quality and makes it easy to carry the weapon while taking the dog out for a walk in our rural area. The weapon could fit in a purse or coat pocket, but is a little too large for pocket carry without the holster. If you are looking for something that fits in a coat or pants pocket, you might want to also consider the Kimber Pepper Blaster II. We have several of those... one in each car, one in my wife's purse, one on the nightstand, etc. But the Piexon JPX is an even better pepper spray gun for home defense, and worth the extra cost.I personally prefer the black barrels because those barrels on the black gun make it look more like a real gun. Combined with the laser site, it could make an intruder think twice about moving any closer. Or, the average bad guy who saw me in the yard wearing it in the holster would assume I was carrying at least a .380 pistol.The Piexon JPX also has a standard mil-spec "picatinny" rail beneath the barrel, and I have ordered a tactical weapons light for it. This should make it even more effective in low-light situations in the house or outdoors after dark. The laser sight and picatinny mil-spec rail give you an idea of the quality and design of this product.Before my first purchase, I emailed the merchant and made sure I understood what I was getting and what the different barrels were used for. He was extremely helpful and shipped quickly. A great product, a great merchant, and a potential life-saving home defense weapon.

False Advertisement. This gun did not include holster like pictured. Majority of the pictures featured holster. Product description stated that other cartridge colors were available. I purchased a black one and received orange. I'm sending it back. I purchased this in June 2011 so pictures and advertisements have been changed due to my complaints. I do not recommend their product due to bad buying experience due to false advertising.

Piexon Black JPX Jet Protector do not fires pepper spray at 23 feet at 405 MPH as advertised. On the official Website you can see that Piexon have changed it (www.jpxline.com).It is now only 320.2ft/sec which is exactly 218.3 MPH.

I have one when they were distributed by Kimber. It is a top quality weapon, but be advised that the trigger is extremely wide and the trigger pull weight is quite substantial, like in the 20 lb range I would guess. If you have arthritis or other issues with your hands or fingers, it is likely you will not be able to pull the trigger, at least without using 2 hands.

This is the PERFECT non-lethal alternative. It's durable, and compact. The reload system is well-made, and the rail mount in front of the trigger guard allows a light or laser to be mounted. Even though the grip is small, it's still perfect. It even comes with a carrying case with a padded inside, and the option for a lock, as well as a reload cartridge, and an instruction manual. It does not clarify if the laser can be activated on the model I own. Before researching any other use of pepper defense sprays, go with this one. I highly recommend it. I recently got a chance to use this, and it is very effective.
