I was so relieved when this solder tip arrived and it was a real genuine Hakko. I have purchased many items that were cheap knock offs from China and they didn't last long at all. It seems that all the tips heat up reasonably quickly but the Hakko tips hold and recover fast enough that they are actually usable. They also tin more easily. The tip tins easily and the 2.4 mm width is close if not spot on to the original size that came with the soldering station. For a backup station, I use a Tenma (model 936 clone). It works okay but it doesn't hold a candle to the Hakko. BUT, this tip fits it too so I will order another one for it. I don't know what else to say about this except that this is a great soldering tip.
