Nice 5 tier planter
I bought one of these 5 tier planters, and the same day the one I had ordered was delivered by Amazon, my mother brought me one that she had purchased as a gift for me. I took the products out of the original boxes and placed them on a shelf in my dining room. A couple of days later, I decided to plant my strawberry starts in my planters. After I got 4 tiers planted, I realized I was missing the 5th tier. Then I counted the tiers in the other set. Both sets had 4 tiers. I gave a review that this was not as advertised. Last night I found the missing 2 tiers in my garage. I have no idea how they got there. Hence this revised review. The product is as advertised and seems to be a quality product. I only have one full united planted, but am very happy with the product.

Sturdy, functional, minimalistic.
I put this together in 2 minutes. I figured I would need to do something to stabilize it after it was stacked before it was even removed from the box. I was surprised at how stable it is. It is not made of flimsy material. I was not quite ready to plant in the individual stackes so I use it for an organizer for my oil painting supplies. It works well for me as an organizer, so, I will buy another to plant. The advertisement for the product shows small flowers that are full grown. Where can I get these and what flowers are they. All the seeds I see are tall when full grown. It would be nice to have these seeds included with the purchase of the stackers

Wellmade, dries out fast though
May 22, 2024 UPDATE I planted my Mr. Stacky with 20 strawberry plants and now many struggle. I have it in an area that receives shade for part of the day but it sill gets hot here and this design simply is not good for growing things that shouldn't dry out between waterings. The four strawberry plants on the top tier are fine because that tier receives direct water but relying on the water dripping down to the pockets, no matter how much you water the top tier, simply isn't a enough. I noticed that right away though and I've been using a watering can with a skinny spout to water the individual pockets. Still, they dry out very quickly and my plants are drying out too. I'm going to have to transplant the strawberries into better containers and my raised bed to save them I do think this is well made and superior to some other brands but the individual pockets dry out very fast. If you use it for strawberries and are somewhere that gets hot, be prepared to water daily and to water the pockets individually. Don't try to rely on the self-watering feature, IMO. I removed one star because of the above. This is not a unique design so I don't want to blame it on the vender, and they did make a really nice version of this planter, but it's just not a good design - well, maybe for succulents and cactus :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I ordered the 5-tier Mr. Stacky because I'm pretty sure the taller one (7 tier?) will tip over if not anchored. I have planted about half of it with strawberries and will finish planting it soon (see picture). In a nutshell, I like it a lot! Just after I ordered this planter, I found out that my brother gifted me the Garden Project Tower 2 planter. If you are familiar with it, you know it's probably the king of these kinds of planters. I started to cancel my order for the Mr. Stacky thinking I wouldn't use it but then I decided to keep it too and just see what I thought of both. I have not put the Tower 2 together yet - it's a bit of a project - but I did pop the Mr. Stacky together quickly and easily. My husband got me a length of 3/4" pvc pipe to put down the center holes to add a bit of stability to the tower. At least that way the tiers shouldn't come apart. Not that they would, but this way they can't. I have it on the back deck sitting on a half barrel (plastic) turned upside down for now to raise the planter up a bit. My biggest concern is wind and the Mr. Stacky falling over and I'm probably going to tie it to the deck railing to help avoid that. The Mr. Stacky seems to be well made, the individual parts are quite sturdy and I like that it is both food safe and made in the USA. Not much is anymore, it seems. I compared this planter to many others on Amazon that are similar and after looking at pictures closeup and ready lots of reviews I believe that the Mr. Stacky is probably superior in construction to the others that are similar. I do think that if the bottom dish that the tower connect to was bigger around there would be less chance of it falling over except in a really strong gust. Because the bottom tier snaps to the dish though, I can't just put the tower on a different dish because there'd be no way to attach it. Time will tell if this little tower remains standing on a windy day. I sure hope it does but as I said earlier, I'll probably tie it to the deck railing with twine for added security. I love the Tower 2 that my brother sent me and I will use it but for a strawberry planter I really love the size of the Mr. Stacky best. Plus, I can pick it up carefully to move it it needed. The Tower 2 cannot be moved without rollers which are a substantial extra purchase. That big one has its place in my garden, for sure, but right now I'm enjoying getting the Mr. Stacky planted and I peek at it to admire how nice it looks even though I'm not quite done putting strawberries in it. If you are thinking about one of these types of multi-tiered planters, I really recommend the Mr. Stacky. I got the terracotta color and I think it looks nice. I thought that the black/darker colors might get too hot where I live and dry out the plants too quickly. The fact that it is food safe plastic and American made are two big bonuses with so many other things being "Made in China".

Solid purchase so far. Time will tell more.
I bought one for myself and another for my mother along with 2 sets of 20 bare roots Everbearing Ozark Beauty Strawberry Plants. Mom and I are both fairly new to gardening, but our plants are flowering and look healthy, and we both love how they look. I haven't had any trouble with it falling over even though I have nothing anchoring it. It seems fairly sturdy when well-watered, and we have seen some good winds here since I set it up and my toddler regularly pokes at it. I'm really wondering how this will hold up next year, since in my experience a lot of plastic containers will break down and become brittle with the weather. If it holds together well, I'll probably get more next year! 5/3/2017 update: I have 3-6 strawberries growing per plant! Unfortunately, my mom's strawberry plants died, though after discussion, we realized she had both been moving it inside/outside with the cold and keeping it in the shade, so both factors may have contributed to their demise. Dad loves the look of it though and they're both excited to have learned from the experience and try again another time. Also my toddler did pull off the top layer once. However, I was able to easily stick the freed dirt/plants back and place and no harm seems to have come from their little adventure. 5/13/2017: update: I'm harvesting strawberries every 3 days and collecting ~8 strawberries each time. They're mostly smallish, but it's an ever-bearing variety, so no surprise there. They are more tart than expected for the variety. Research suggests it might be a spacing issue, but on examination several of the "pots" appear low on soil, so I'll fix that and hopefully get sweeter strawberries moving forward. Handy thing about this container is I could easily move the whole thing into the cage with my blueberry bushes, protecting it from birds, rabbits, and other wildlife. Though tart, we are definitely enjoying them. 7/29/2018 update: I fell behind on watering last year and all my plants in this planter died. The ones I planted in the garden survived and fruits this year. I don't regret my purchase, but I think I'll wait until I have a better watering system before I use this again.

Ok, but not very sturdy in windy conditions
My first impression was that this is much smaller than the pictures or video make it look. But, I was Ok with that. My second impression when I unpacked it was that the plastic was a bit thinner than I had hoped for, which came true since a small piece broke off as I was pulling it out of the box - not in a spot though that mattered. Setup and planting was easy and fun though. But, with spring storms the stack toppled not once, not twice but three times and I had to redo a lot of it. So the problem with this stack is that it is top heavy and given that it is not very big does not have a solid base to stand on. Therefore, you will have to secure the entire stack or place it somewhere where it can still get good sun for your plants, yet is not exposed to wind. My solution is to take some rope and bind the entire stack together so the pieces do not come apart and place it in a somewhat wind protected area, possibly tying it down further. Definitely looking forward to the harvest though, the plants are doing well and thriving. A good modification would be to provide for a heavier base that the stack clamps to, and also stack pieces the clamp down on each other, rather than just sit on each other. Some type of interlocking mechanism with maybe a quick twist on should help a bunch here.

Bought a second one (love them)!
1) I had initially tried strawberries per the milk crate tutorial. You canโt move the crates so the side that didnโt get as much sun was void. These are super easy to turn so I turn them every few days. 2) Our HOA doesnโt like excessive plants to overpower the lovely look they have going. These are compact and inconspicuous, so I bought a second one. Plus, they are way prettier than the milk crates too. I have 40 plants total, 6 varieties. Maybe this is overkill, but I can always plant something else in them next year! 3) There is a hole down the middle, so I believe they can be set up for slow drip or a watering pipe with holes but FYI the hole is not in the holding bottom tray. 4) Folks saying these are too light are forgetting how heavy dirt is. Once planted, these feel very secure. 5) very compact for winter storage.

Easy to use
Great product made from strong plastic, it doesn't feel like it's flimsy. It drains well and catches the water well with no leaks or cracks. The bottom does scratch fairly easy since its plastic, so when you move it, don't drag it but remove the top 3 tears and then move it, or place it on wheels or keep it stationary.

Sturdy Easy to Assemble Broccoli Tower
I stacked 2 sets of the smaller Mr Stacky together, which are easy to assemble. I added a small irrigation pump, food grade irrigation tubing, a pvc pipe in the center for sturdiness and planted broccoli I grew from seeds under grow lights in stages so my harvest continues. I used 4 foot led lights 6500 k and a trellis to secure them on. I used a 5 gallon bucket for the reservoir. I planted a baby bush watermelon and Minnesota midget cantaloupe on the bottom. The trellis is support for the melons. I planted several Marigolds because they deter insects. Despite being in a basement laundry room aphids can find their way into a home. I used coco coir, Vigaro earthworm casts and perlite which keep the unit light weight. I irrigate 3 times a day for 5 minutes per timer. Lights are 12 hours on timer. I use Mr Stacky all purpose fertilizer and calcium supplement. I use 2 teaspoons per gallon as recommended on their label. Economical way to grow broccoli year round!

Ease of assembly & small footprint.
I love the fact that there are 20 spots to plant into. Great product to grow many items in a small area. Easier to keep weeds under control. Wish I had found these a long time ago.
