Frustrating Game
This game is okay. It plays well but has limitations which gets more and more frustrating the longer I play. But hey that was the chance I took. Game arrive in great condition and in time.

I was really doubting weather I should pick this game up. It was on and off on my Amazon wish list for a year. For £3 used and a bit more new its not an expensive game but reviews were not very good and I was afraid that I will play one level and throw it away like many other budget games. Well I glad I bought it. It’s really not bad military strategy game. Its a bit like World in Conflict in that you don’t just spam you troops from HQ but have quite limited amount of soldiers that you can replenish by completing objectives but by no means do you spam your troops like in Command & Conquer games. Your troops also can pick up items and level up so you get attached to them and don’t want to waste them anyway. This also means that there is tons of micromanagement. Especially with vehicles. Ground vehicles control very awkwardly and often times get stuck so you have to manage each tank or jeep individually. Helicopters are a bit better but still need to be managed or else (just like soldiers) will get killed in no time. Now some people will find this infuriating and probably that’s one of the reasons why this game has got such average score but I like micromanagement so I had fun. I liked individually placing each tank and ordering around each anti-air unit. A lot of times my troops got killed because I left them without supervision but some of the times my tactics worked and blew up all enemy forces and that was very satisfying. Also, its fun to order around a squad of snipers or infantry and take out enemy soldiers one by one. Graphics are really good too for game of its age. You can’t make resolution widescreen unfortunately which sucks and you have to get used to square resolution. However, despite that graphics are nice, maps are very nice and detailed, your troops are well modelled and animated. I really liked it. Unfortunately, as typical for budget games story didn’t make much sense and was not interesting at all. They tried to create some sort of intrigue but totally failed in this department. Voice acting is quite bad too. It’s just typical budget game C movie voice acting. There were few bugs like helicopters sometimes not falling down after being shot or troops getting stuck but nothing major or really game breaking. Missions were interesting and usually quite diverse. You get 6 or so different objectives on each map. Some are mandatory and some are not. Each map can take from 30 min to 2 hours to complete. As I said before maps are nicely detailed and there are quite few different map types like lush jungles, snowy Easter Europe or middle eastern cities. There are 20 levels in total so for £3 you get plenty of game time if you enjoy the game. Also, missions were not too hard on normal difficulty. There were few infuriating difficulty spikes toward the end (especially with timed missions or defend-the-house missions) but overall the game has quite manageable difficulty. It was just right for me.Overall, I’m really glad I picked up this game. Of course its a budged title that comes from a small studio and has a lot of micromanagement but if you can look past that (or enjoy that) you might be surprised by how fun this game can be. For me, at least, this game was really a “hidden gem” and I will definitely keep it in my collection. I have checked out other games by Most Wanted Entertainment too. Got boxed version of Defenders of Ardania for £2 and that went straight into bin. Thunder Wolves look quite fun and I might get it in the future. Too bad it doesn’t have physical release.

Good game with a neat storyline, yes things have moved on with games like Battlefield 3, but this is good play. Definate value for money.
