For under ten dollars and a free download of an app you can have a full pedalboard. You cannot beat that as a beginner. I do feel like the sound quality could be better, but to try out the computer or iPad interface I loved it.

I oedered the one fulfilled by Amazon vs the cheaper options shipped from outside the US. Worth paying the extra 4 dollars. It arrived quickly and looks like the real thing not a generic version. It has IRIG printed on the adapter and included instructions from IK Multimedia, although it was in a zip bag not a retail box. I'm so pleased with the result that I instantly bought another.If you only need a single mono input this is way easier and convenient vs using a external USB interface. I use the adapter with my Moog synth, using the ipad as an FX processor and CV source. The IRIG mono input handles line-level signals well. You need to use it with an app like AUM that can control the input gain. It also passes the headphone output through, so I can still sent CV signals to my Moog. Compared to the price, bulk, and fickleness of a CCK w/ USB audio, this little adapter is a steal.

It’s an iRig. I thought I was getting a knock off version but it’s the real deal. There is some issue with static but it does the job for me. I’m using a 2020 iPad but haven’t tried the lighting adapter yet.Update. It died. I noticed the screw holding the housing together is fake. I broke it open and the parts are very cheap. It just stopped working for no reason. It’s still not bad for the money but it is a definite fake piece of c h I n a junk.
